Clyde just sent me the following note. Please keep Clyde and Debra in
your prayers. This is all I know right now.
I'll relay more when I know more. I apologize if you get this more than once.
Just a note that, this morning on a cardiac procedure done by
physicians at North Bay Fairfield, my wife Debra is being
transported ASAP this afternoon to Standford Med Center Cardiac Unit,
for a more advance procedure. Status unknown.

Hi guys,
You're getting this if you're on the Antiques Yahoo group or if you're
a possible player on at least one of our Roy Hobbs World Series teams
(48+, 55+, 60+).
Here's what I need:
1. If you haven't decided, please do what's necessary to make a decision.
(In other words, ask her. :-) ) Then let me know if you're in or not.
2. If you are in, but haven't paid, send me the dough.
3. If you haven't given me a waiver, please print the attached file,
fill it out on both sides, sign both sides, and mail it to me.
4. If you're new this year, make a copy of your drivers license,
and mail it to me.
5. If you know where you're staying in FL, send me your hotel info,
and your cellphone number if you'll be carrying it in FL. If you
want additional roommates, or are looking for a place to stay,
let me know.
6. If you've made your plane reservations, send me your arrival and
departure info. I always get last minute requests for things like a
ride from the airport. It's useful to know when you're coming in so
we can connect people who are coming in at about the same time.
Address:
Denny Brown

There are four web pages on my site that I use to keep track of
all of this:

Hotel & Arrival info:
http://www.norcaloldtimers.org/antiques/pages/2006/RHHotelInfo.php
Please take a look at these and let me know if I have anything wrong.
We'll do some practice in October. I don't have specific plans yet. I'll
send email when I do.

Hi guys,
Some good news since the last update...
Art White has been approved as our one "ringer". Lanny Ropke has
joined the "maybe" list. Here's the current list:
Paid(8): Denny Brown, George Esposito, Mike Flick, Rankin Lyman, Gus
Manning, Mike Rezzonico, Dutch Van Wey.
Yes(3): Sal Esposito, Nino Martinez, Phil Montes
Maybe(2): Lanny Ropke, Roger Strack
Possible/Unlikely(4): Mike Gaul, Sandy Wishnev, Carl Paz, Bill Keller,
Harry Hart, Bob Snook
I'm hoping for about 16 guys. We'd actually be OK with just the first
13 guys listed above, but vulnerable to injury.

Hi guys,
As some of you know, Clyde Jones and Ron Monks have each been assembling
a team for the Roy Hobbs World Series in Ft. Myers, Florida. With the
series fast approaching, and both teams needing some additional players
to be viable, they have decided to merge the two teams.
Zach Jones as agreed to be the field manager for the combined team. He
knows most of the guys from the two groups and was one of the players
who was being recruited by both Clyde and Ron.
Here is my current understanding of what the combined team looks like.
"Yes" means that the player is fully committed.
"Probable" means that the player will probably be able to make it,
but has some obstacles that could interfere.
"Possible" means that the player is trying to figure out whether they
can make it or not.
"Extra" means that the player's primary commitment
is to another team (60+) but will be on the roster and available
part time if there is room.
Yes (15): Walter Boggan, Jeff Brown, Robert Custer, Steve Elias,
Codany Holiday,
Clyde Jones, Zach Jones, George Karastamatis, Ron Monks, Mike Murphey,
Randy Olson, Mike Sullivan, Bob Willard, Skip Willard*, Elgin Williams
Probable:
Possible(4): Gary Hopper, Ken Overton, Robin South
Extras(4): Denny Brown, Mike Rezzonico, Rick Kramer, (maybe Lanny Ropke)
No(1): Randy Baumgardner
* We get one "ringer" (an under 55 player). That's Skip Willard.
Please let me know if your status (above) is wrong.
This looks to me like a VERY good 55+ team. I'm excited about the
prospects.
-Denny
PS: I use the following page on my website to keep track of this team.
Check it out to find more information.
http://www.norcaloldtimers.org/antiques/pages/2006/RH55Info.php
PPS: I don't have email addresses for Steve Elias and Robert Custer.
Clyde, If you have either, please pass it to me. Otherwise, give them
a call when it's convenient.

Hi guys,
I just got notice from TV that the baseball coach at Livermore High
double-booked their field. Right now, TV said they'd move our games to
the JV field at Livermore High.
Mike Ilg and I are leaning back. We've asked Dale to look for alternatives.
I've even suggested moving the games to next weekend.
So two things:
* Be heads up for a possible change of location for tomorrow.
* Does anybody have a problem if the games get moved to 9/16 and 9/17?

Hi guys,
I just updated the website to include info on the Woodland tournament. Cost will be $50 per player. We can have up to 4 players over 50 but under 55. Randy Cobb already jumped into one of those slots.
Please confirm that you're in. I think we have a couple of slots still open but I won't do much more recruiting if you're all in.
I will need to collect your signatures. I should be able to get most of them this weekend at our games.

Hi guys,
I just updated the website to include info on the Woodland tournament.
Cost will be $50 per player. We can have up to 4 players over 50 but
under 55. Randy Cobb already jumped into one of those slots.
The info page is:
http://www.norcaloldtimers.org/antiques/pages/2006/WoodlandInfo.php
Please confirm that you're in. I think we have a couple of slots still open
but I won't do much more recruiting if you're all in.
I will need to collect your signatures. I should be able to get most
of them this weekend at our games.

Hi guys,
As part of the facelift of the Antiques website, I've added some
sponsors. Right now, I have ads from me, gus, and sal & patti.
The short term plan is to put up ads for companies directly connected
to our players. But eventually, we will probably expand it to include other
relevant ads.
So for those of you with your own businesses (Robin, Sandy, ?) or even
sidelines, let me know if you want to be on the list. I'll need some
copy (what you want to say about your biz) and maybe a graphic or photo
or something.
This is experimental at this point, but if you'd like to jump in let me
know.

Hey DB, if there is a 55+ team going to Woodland, I should be able to do some part time or full time play, in this age bracket. Keep me informed on the updates.
