Most of you know I'm not much for rules :-), but I'd like to change
a few things this year.

#1. You call me.
I hate (that is HATE) making outgoing phone calls. My work schedule keeps
me at the office late. By the time I'm home, fed, and settled, it's often
kind of late to start calling. So, if you have a question, or wonder if
the weather is OK wherever we're playing, or just want to hear my
voice, call me. If you think I'm ignoring you by not calling, you're wrong;
I don't call anybody if I can help it.

#2. Use my OFFICE phone number.
That is 650-917-7892. This rings twice at my desk and then forwards to my
cellphone. Cellphone has voicemail. Please don't use my home phone any more.
Between babysitting grandkids and Jake's mom in town and Jake's MS, using
the home phone can be disruptive. I turn the cellphone off or hide it in
the garage office if I'm not available, so you can call any time and leave
a message.

#3. Read your email.
I try to keep everybody informed by email. For me, it's the best way to
connect with the 30 or so people on the two teams. And if the email has
a question, please respond. If you hate email, then feel free to call me.
I don't mind incoming calls; it's the outgoing telephone that I HATE.

#4. Set up a buddy system.
If you don't know something, or don't read your email, or are away
or whatever, get somebody to be your proxy. Phil doesn't have email,
but he stays connected through Sal. Gus usually keeps Danny Moore informed.
Instead of everybody calling me, you can talk to each other and get the
information you need.

#5. It's your job to let me know if you cannot make a game. Please respond
early in the week to my email. I'll assume you ARE coming unless you tell
me you're NOT. It's OK to not come; it's not OK to not tell me you're not
coming.

#6. Use the website.
I have lots of info there. I plan to do a facelift sometime this year
to make things easier to find and use. If you need directions to a field,
almost all are available on the site. PLEASE make suggestions for
site improvements. If you'd like something to be on the site that isn't,
please ask.
