Hi guys,

Here's an update on the tournament.

I found out Tuesday that only two teams were entered in 55+, us and
Clyde's team. A couple of other possible teams dropped out. Tom Giffen
called Clyde and me to figure out what to do.

I think we have a viable solution figured out. But you guys get to
help decide what's really viable. We're now working on a couple of
scenarios, and we've rejected a few.

Scenario #1: Decent chance of getting two Las Vegas teams to play.
They aren't strictly 55+, but both Clyde and I said that's fine. We'd
play 3 round robin games as normal. There's some talk about us and
Clyde being automatically in the final game on Monday.

Scenario #2 (worst case): If we can't get other teams to play, we
asked Tom to just have us play Clyde three games.

We told Tom not to buy "trinkets" like tshirts and trophies. He offered
to give us a discount on the World Series instead.

Some scenarios we rejected were things like moving to the 48 week and
playing in the 48 bracket (changing reservations etc. would have been
a nightmare for anybody not driving), cancelling the tournament (both
Clyde and I figured that Vegas plus baseball was worth it, even if
we were playing each other).

So I hope that you all still want to play. If you DON'T want to play
under these circumstances, please let me know right away. I'll be
very surprised if most of you don't want to play. I think it will
be fun to play some no-stress ball and fool around in Vegas too.

Art White, Bill Jones, Denny Brown, Dutch Van Wey, Larry Grant,
Mike Murphey, Mike Rezzonico, Randy Olson, Rich Hinkle, Ron Monks,
Robin South, Sal Esposito, Sandy Speier, Terry Gammill.

I need to call Jesus; there was some talk that he was coming, but
I haven't heard from him.

Mike, we have room for the guy you suggested from Moraga if he
wants to come. Ron, talk to your guy too and see how interested
he would be.
