Dear Shit Happens from Happy Heretics H3 (Charleston SC),
Since I have not had a response to
any email, Hashspace comment, Hashspace email, paypal invoice, or phone call
I’ve given you since Aug. 2008, I’ve had to take a more shotgun type approach
to contacting you. Everyone else, I'm sorry if you get multiple copies of this message. Read or delete it's your choice.
I would like to talk to you sometime to discuss payment for the Drake-Off Set that Hard Ass Nipples and I made up for your 100th Happy Heretics H3 run last fall. If you remember you asked me to send you my address and you would send me a check for $50. You can see in the attached picture I cropped from my hashspace account that you in fact sent me that message on Aug. 26, 2008.
Like I said, I have tried contacting you since then with no response. I even asked people that attended the event if the Drake-Off set was in fact there. They confirmed it had arrived and had been used during the event.
I’m sure you will have some sort of excuse as to why I haven’t received a check or response when I’ve tried to contact you. I thought one possible excuse would be that you helped me out with a couple of items when we hosted the 2009 NC/SC Interhash. I would like to remind you all I asked for was advice on throwing a good event without going broke. You offered to bring your shower and PA systems. I took you up on that offer. Even though I was warned “Be careful when dealing with Shit Happens,” I decided to make my own judgment about another hasher offering a little advice and help. This brings me again to the email you sent saying you would pay me. Why would have I thought your services at NC/SC were payment for a future Drake-Off set?
Well I guess in the end I have learned on thing. I now know how Shit Happens hosts such nice and fun events (so I’ve been told since I’ve never been to one) for such a low cost. You just don’t pay the people you owe money to. This in my opinion, right or wrong, has to be the only explanation.
I also learned another thing. I guess shit really does happen. And just so you know any event I host in the future will have a special “Shit Happens” registration rate of $50 plus the regular registration rate. Each time I’m asked I’ll explain the story of why I have the special registration rate for you. So far most folks have responded with “That seems reasonable to me.”
Yes it may only be $50 but it's the principle.
Send me the cash and I will gladly let everyone know that you do in fact pay people what you owe them.
Sincerely,
Ear Shot
P.S. You only have to pay the increased rate once and I’ll remove it from all future events I host.
