In response to Erin,
Goaltending is not the issue. If you listen to commentators and news reports
and if you have seen the goals themselves, they are mostly faults of the
defense. I remember a particular night where the other team scored three
goals. One goal was on a breakaway, the other was from a defenseman who
handed it over to the other team in front of the net and the other was a
defenseman who hit Mika and knocked him over. The defense is a mess, Holland
does not keep the other team away from the net, Campbell plays too selfishly,
wanting to score, and Hurlbut and Houda have been playing at their worst. I
have no idea what it is about defense this year, but it's suffering- and in
the beginning everyone said that it was going to be solid. We have Mika in
goal- remember last year when it took him a while to get a feel for things-
well he eventually took us all the way and was the best goaltender in the
league. He just needs some time. And Askey- I'm surprised at how well he is
doing, he's got great potential and a hard work ethic. As for offense-
sometimes they are on, sometimes off. I expected a lot more from Kristek-
he's got the ability but lacks guts and self confidence. Milley could be
playing a lot harder. Taylor plays tough but can only do so much, he needs
more support from the other offensemen. Murphy could be playing a lot harder,
he's capable of more.
okay, that's enough from my mouth today and let me say that I am biased
because I admire goaltending the most.
