Hey there, fans! Regarding yesterday's note on Domenic Pittis, I was unable
to find real in-depth information, but this morning's Democrat and Chronicle
just happened to have some more news. It appears that Kate was correct when
she said that Pittis was unhappy during the playoffs last season. He was
promoted to Buffalo early in the season, demoted and suffered a major slump
before regaining his point-scoring finesse, and was passed over when the
Sabres needed offensive help for their (albeit short) playoff run. According
to Steve Bartlett, Pittis' agent, several NHL teams have shown interest in
Pittis, including the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, expansion team
Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues and the Los Angeles Kings. It is highly
likely that Pittis will go to Edmonton if the contract negotiations fit the
bill, so to speak, especially considering that Edmonton is a decent team who
could use a little more offensive firepower.
In other news, three Buffalo Sabres prospects expected to suit up for
Rochester this year are Norm Milley, Jaroslav Kristek and Andrew Peters, all
wingers. Last but not least, it is known that Jason Cipolla is testing the
NHL free agent waters, but is expected to return to Rochester if the offer is
strictly a minor-league deal or if there is a lack of interest in the market.
Until then...
Go Amerks!
