Amerks Post-Game Summary--Rochester 3, Philadelphia Phantoms 0
Martin Biron earned his first shutout of the 1999-2000 season (12th in
his AHL career) as he backstopped the Amerks to a 3-0 victory over the team's
divisional opponents from the 1999 Calder Cup Playoffs. Mike Hurlbut scored
his first goal of the season (and the game-winner) at 19:06 of the opening
period while on the power-play. Assists were awarded to Maxim Afinogenov and
Dimitri Kalinin. Craig Fisher scored his second of the season at 6:09 of the
second period unassisted to give Rochester a 2-0 lead. Rouding out the
goal-per-period scoring for the Amerks was highly-touted centerman Chris
Taylor at 16:39 of the final period of play. The former Amerk nemesis was
assisted by Denis Hamel and Dane Jackson. Biron stopped all 23 Philly shots
on goal while the Rochester offense put 24 shots on Phantom netminder
Jean-Marc Pelletier. Look for the post-game of this afternoon's matinee with
Hamilton late tonight or early tomorrow morning!
Go Amerks!
