All,
Tremendous thanks go out to the fabulous group at Lonestar Polocrosse!! My
family is new to Polocrosse, and we travelled from Jackson, MS to San Antonio,
TX for Thanksgiving with my in-laws. We were thrilled to learn that the local
club was hosting a tournament/play day on that Friday and Saturday. We made the
2 hour trek from San Antonio out to Coupland, Texas on Saturday and it was well
worth the effort.
Everyone there made us feel like long lost family. My kids (ages 10 and 13)
received *wonderful* instruction from several club members, and were thrilled to
be able to ride 2 practice chukkas on borrowed ponies with borrowed tack. I can
definitely say the addiction is taking full hold on this family!
Special thanks to Prissy, Dean, Daniel, Dory and Paul!

Will second our thanks to Jamie, Deb and Charlie Horse Polocrosse. If you haven't been to Charlie Horse Ranch, it is a must do on the list!
The Vallees chickened out after the first delay in I95 -and found an alternate route- we were stuck an hour ahead of them and suffered through two more, and the 8+ hour trip home turned into 13 hours. But we had a great time, drug the old man (newly arrived back in country) back out onto the field) and started a new horse in the sport. The Diemers are immensely pleased with both, and Manny is taking copious amounts of Motrin today.
Subject: Re: [americanpolocrosseassociation] CHCP thank you
well we just made it in the door about an hour ago from the Thanksgiving day tournament in Florida. The trip home was terribly long due to a terrible delay on 95 N but going to the tournament was well worth the trouble. The Florida tournaments always allow me to visit my family down the road...which gives us an excuse to drive down.
The Florida sunshine was of the liquid kind on Wednesday when we arrived. Thursday was a beautiful day as the rest of the weekend. Play started on Friday night. The numbers were not terribly high due to the Holiday but those that were there had a great time. This tournament had a Friday night dinner, Saturday lunch, Saturday night dinner and Sunday lunch. Hungry we were not!
Play was exciting...and of course the lower grades were full of new faces who are eager to learn and grew through the weekend. The upper level play had old and new faces but had great team work and was exciting to watch. I believe every chukka ended with-in 1 to 2 goal point spread. Every game was so close and you didn't know how it was gonna end. Sometimes the winning goal was scored right before the final buzzer.
Everyone was able to go home healthy and sound, horses and humans alike....so much to be thankful for! The 3 fields held up wonderfully and footing was excellent. The lights were fun to play under.
Deb and Jamie did a great job getting this tournament organized and everything ran pretty smooth. It is a very hard job but all of CHPC worked together and got the job done.
I guess this is the official close of APA's 2009 Tournament schedule. It was a great season and we will look forward to seeing all our polox friends soon.
Best,
~the Vallees
btw-the two polocrosse horses that Deb emailed about--are well worth their weight in gold. Both were very sweet on the ground and will make great mounts for some lucky player out there!

There are 2 pretty nice polo mares that are for sale in Florida. We do not own
them. They are at our farm now to be evaluated for polocrosse.
There is one really nice 19-20 year old polo mare (clean legs and healthy)
that Mike Vallee rode for our tournament. She is kid safe and a total
babysitter. The guy is asking $2500, but I know he will take less. If he is
smart he would take 1000-1500 (because of her age). Someone should make him an
offer on her, because she would make a great beginner's horse. Totally safe on
the ground and under saddle, and played well in the lower grade. He also has a
grey mare (about 12years old) that played pretty well. She is a horse that
could play D to B grade. She needs an intermediate rider (pretty quiet on the
ground, and did nothing wrong...just a bit more spirited). He was asking $2500
for her, which is a steal. She is really skinny, but has been at our farm for
less than a week and is gaining weight like crazy. She will be gorgeous when
filled out. She just came off of polo season in south Florida. She had never
even practiced polocrosse and went out and played C Grade with no issues (did
really well I thought) with Ashley Crane riding her. Ashley is a good rider,
but the mare started really figuring out the game right away.
She is completely worth the asking price, and more.
So, if you know of any folks looking.....these 2 are pretty nice.

I have no idea if anyone in your clubs would be interested but here is a 4 yr 15.2 liver chestnut filly.
She is 100% sound and clean, no vices well broke and easy to ride. Glasgow Road has big lovely gaits, a good center of gravity and knows where her feet are. Its to late in the season for regular polo buyers.
This filly is sound and will flex n jog on pavement. She is located @ Charlestown WV. No holes, no issues, no wind, mind, feet or lameness problems. Safe and easy to be around in the barn and good out on the track. asking $2K
Please feel free to share and network her information, she truly is that nice. 304-279-1322
I think we can get more people in town for the next one, since it is the end of winter break. Bet is already trying to decide if she prefers being a 1 or a 2, and I told her she needs to try being a 3 before she decides!
Kayla and I went to Jackson MS and did a clinic for some pony clubbers. It was a blast and we have hooked a few new players! We had them passing, scooping, and playing a chukka. We have another clinic set for Jan2-3 at the same place. The field we played on was great and could be good for a tounament. Hopefully we can get the middle of the country up and running as quickly as the east coast has grown!

Hey all you kids out there!
Just a reminder that you have to have your apps and deposit for the YDT into
Dave Brooks by November 30th. You can get all the info and apps on the APA
website under forms and documents.
EVERYONE must send in an app and deposit- even if you were on the team last
year!
Those on the team last year were grandfathered in... so if you are 18 this year
and were on the team last year you can still apply.
Being grandfathered in does not guarantee you a spot on the tour teams- it means
that you are automatically a member of the YD Program in 2010 ( as long as you
send in your app and deposit by nov 30th!) and are eligible to apply and
possibly be selected for a tour team in 2010.
Our tentative plan is to send 8 to Australia, have 8 for an inbound tour and
have another group for a quad /camp style format similiar to last year.
NOT everyone who applies will be selected to be in the Youth Development
Program. If you are interested please contact either myself or Dave Brooks if
you have any questions.
thanks
Donna
There's an extra camera that has been floating around our clubhouse since
Eastern Zone regionals... so if you lost one let me or the Brooks know.

Hello All, We hate to do it, but the weather for tomorrow is just too iffy and
we have folks coming from too far to play the weather game. So we will cancel
our play day at Pinehurst for tomorrow and plan another play day for early next
year. Jr's and Beginners keep practicing! Your day is coming. Beth and Chuck
First of all, apologies if you get this multiple times, or if you live
a thousand miles away - we are trying to make sure we get this to
everone coming tomorrow!
***Coffee and Danish will be available at the field when you get
there***
***lunch is included for players, $5.00 for everyone else (hot meal,
since it will be cool)***
***water for horses is available (free!), bottled water for people will
also be there (for sale!)

Directions to Potomac Pony Club Field

From south and Washington DC Beltway:
From the Beltway take I270 north towards Frederick. Take the exit for
MD 118 south., drive 2.3 miles, turn right onto Clopper Rd. Drive 2.3
miles to 3way stop, turn right under railway bridge, then immediately
left onto Barnesville Rd. At the stop sign after a couple of miles,
follow the road around to the left down the hill, this is now Bucklodge
Road. Go another couple of miles and you will come to a bend with a
small stone barn set very close to the road on your left. The field is
about another ¼ mile on your left, just BEFORE Moore Road comes in on
your right. (the entrance directly opposite Moore Road is a private
drive).
From Frederick, Baltimore and all point north:
Take I270 south from I70 at Frederick. Take the exit for Clarksburg,
MD121 and turn right at the end of the ramp. Follow 121 for about 3-4
miles (approx) until you pass over a lake on a causeway. Turn right
onto Barnesville Road just before the railway bridge. At the stop sign
after a couple of miles, follow the road around to the left down the
hill, this is now Bucklodge Road. Go another couple of miles and you
will come to a bend with a small stone barn set very close to the road

The weather looks great and the field drains really well so the footing
should be good too.
Look forward to seeing everyone!

The Tarheel Classic is May 15-16 at the Pinehurst Harness Track! We are hoping to have several Internationals players as well as many of the 2011 World Cup team members there as well! We have fabulous fields that can with stand a lot of play as well as weather. This is the same site of the 2003 and 2007 APA nationals!

Dear!
How are you doing ?
I found a good website last week: www.tv-laptop.com
One of my friend bought a notebook and he got the product in one week. Its quality is very good and the price is competitive.
They also sell Laptop,TV,Games,Camera,Motorcycles and so on.
By the way, they import product from Korea Japan and sell new and original products. They have good reputation and have many good feedbacks.
Now , the Christmas day is coming, this website will be a good choice for you. I am sure you will get many surprise and benefits.
Greetings!
