Re: Pinoy pro fighter wins in World Championships, Thailand

Hello everyone!
This is the first time I came across this blog...
Anyway, I'll give everyone info in regards to Vince Soberano...

-He saw his 1st Muay-Thai fight in Lumpini stadium when his dad was
stationed in Thailand.
-He started training in Thailand when he was 8yrs old.
-Vince finished his High School education in La Salle Bacolod.
-After graduating he proceded to the Philippine Military Academy
(PMA)
-He was a Phil. Scout Ranger for several years and while in service
he
was sent to Fort Benning and Fort Bragg in the U.S. for further
training.(the Phil. contigent won the CQB competition against the US
Navy SEALS...)
-He migrated to the US and took up Film making...
-He started his fighting career in a No Holds Barred, Everything Goes
fight in Mexico City. It was actually a gambling den fought in
a "Cock
Pit". (He said he makes more money there in a day than what he earns
in a month...)
-On one of his fights in Mexico, the brother of Benny "the Jet"
Orquidez discovered the potential of Vince and took him under his
wing.
-During his amateur and professional career Vince established a lot
of
first...
*He was the first to promote Muay Thai in Southern California
*He was one of the pioneers of MMA in the US
*He is the 1st Filipino "to my knowledge" that fought in K1.
*He also fought in King of the Cage.
*He won 3 World Championships for Kick Boxing
*and another 3 World Titles for Muay Thai.
"Vince retired undefeated"
-Vince opened the Black Tiger academy in torrance California in which
he also trained 2 future World Champions.
-He was also for a short time one of the instructors in the RUAS
Academy. (Actually he just wanted to train with Marco Ruas, he ended
up teaching his students=-)
-His 1st MMA (shoot fighting) fight was in Japan. He got "CREAMED!"
(Sorry Vince!)this prompted him to take up BJJ.
-He also.... Hmmmm...You know guys, Vince has bin fighting for 3
decades. There is so much to write about his accomplishments that it
can't fit here...

What I know is that he's made our country proud 7 times over. (He
recently fought and KO'd his opponent for the welterweight title in
Thailand at 43 yrs. young) the sad part is that he is an unknown.
The country hasn't recognized his accomplishments. He carried the
countries flag with him in 7 world titles and made the country proud
but the only thing he heard from our country were the sound of
crickets...
He just came out of retirement, and he's in the best shape of his
life.
Please lend your support to our Champion... check his fight videos at
youtube. Type in vpecs to see all his fights and instructional
videos.
or go to his website at www.vpecs.com. Get to know him.

My take on Vince... He's a great friend, very very humble,
disciplined
and to an out of shape friend like me... he's an inspiration! But
most
of all daw gago2x!!! Hahaha!
hahaha!kami tanan di Vince sa Bacolod na huya sa lawas namon!
Hahahaha! Train ta sa 27 mag balik ka. Kun kaya mo kaya man namon.
=-)
