How to Increase your vertical jump in just 4 weeks ? The secret tip to jump
higher fast is to strengthen your primary core and add explosiveness into your
jumping power. Imagine the thrill and excitement you can bring into your game
when you showcase your jumping ability in blocking shots and break away dunks -
Now that is what makes basketball fun and exciting to watch.
If you want to increase your vertical leap in the shortest time possible, you
need to be very focus and discipline in your training routine and at the same
time, ensure that you have a healthy diet. A Proper diet is important to ensure
that you have all the proteins and carbohydrates that your body will need while
going through this training phase.
Here are 3 surefire tips to jump higher in basketball:
1) Sprinting - The best way to increase explosiveness and quickness is
sprinting. Sprinting is a very good jump training exercise. It not only builds
speed but strengthen your leg muscles and add explosiveness into them all at the
same time. If you want to add some hops into your game, sprinting is one workout
that you should never skip. Here is how you include sprinting into your vertical
jump training.
- Stand at one end of the basketball court - Sprint full length of the court -
Bend down to touch the ground once you reach the other end of the court - Sprint
back and repeat the same process - Do 3 sets of 4 full court runs - Increase 1
set every week - Do this every 2 days until end of the 4 weeks
2) Calf Raises - Applying the concept of plyometrics, calf raise strengthens
your calf muscles and builds your explosive jumping power through the stretching
of your tendons. Here is how to increase your vertical jump with this exercise:
- Stand on a elevated platform balancing with only 1/3 of your foot. - After a
successful calf raise, dip your foot down until you feel your tendons is
stretched. - Perform 3 sets of 15 for a start - Add 5 repetition for each new
session - Do this every 2 days until the end of the month
3) Leaping Lunges - One of the best tips to jump higher is to strengthen your
core. As such, if you want to increase your vertical leap fast, you need to
strengthen your Quadriceps and Gluteus muscles. Integrating Leaping lunges as
one of your hops training is very effective in increasing vertical jump in a
very short period of time.
- Stand shoulder width apart - Move one leg forward until the rear knee is
almost touching the ground - Jump straight up as high as possible alternating
the legs in mid air - Repeat until 3 sets of 10 is completed - Add 4 repetition
