Great!!;(((*krrr* I think the English will make
"funny"(*oink, oink*;( jokes because of that game for the next 30
years...<br>Itīs nothing wrong about saying that the team you are
supporting is the best...but the English always do it with
saying that the others are idiots...and everyone likes
it because the donīt do it with their
nationalities...OK...they point is : ANYONE HERE FROM ENGLAND WHO THINKS
THAT ENGLAND IS THE BEST AND GERMAN SUCKS???<br>Would
make my day perfect*krrr*...ok...I know that the
German team plays really awful but the English did so,
too...and we could lose against every team(ok...we donīt
have the choice;)...but against England it was very
cruel...;(((*goingtokillmyself*;))<br>I know...itīs just football...and all the
luck we
had have all the years before just left us against
the English....FUCK!!!
Is this a record?<br><br>In the Norway --

Yugoslavs. Not bad going.
YEEEEEESSSSSSSS!<br><br>At last.<br><br>Not since
the memorable World Cup final of 1966 have England
managed to beat Germany in a competitive match, having
been dumped out of two semi-finals after penalty
shoot-outs.<br><br>On this historic occasion, I thought you might like
to savour this minute by minute

revenge the France98 defeat against Romania,
then it's the Italians in the 1/4
finals.<br><br>Somebody tell me it's true, England beat Germany and not a
penalty in sight.
Hi Kelly,<br><br>England might just be ready for
Argentina next time. We've got the Germans out of our
system, Next, Romania, then France. Champions of Europe
and the Argies will be a piece of cake ;-).
>>I don't know much about Seaman and who
could be the best goalie, I only pretty much know him
from the Zaragoza-Arsenal Cup Winners Cup Final, where
he got embarrassed big time by
Nayim.<<<br><br>Nayim used to play for Spurs (Tottenham Hotspur) --
Arsenal's north London rivals. When Nayim scored that
blinding goal, the cheers could be heard over half of
north London.<br><br>The Italians showed they mean
business against Belgium.<br><br>The Semi finals look like
being:<br><br>Italy, Holland, France and Portugal.<br><br>England need
plenty of luck to be in among these.<br><br>A penalty
for Germany is a good possiblity, Colina sent Ince
off in the opening qualifier against Sweden. The
Italian is the referee for the England - Germany
game.<br><br>Oh well.
Yes, but they did not deserve to lose that 1st
game... too bad.<br><br>It's definitely will not be a
friendly at this level. Even if the order in the group was
determined already, this is history and national pride. This
is a mini-final and great practice for them. Though
I personally give a tie or small difference in
goals.<br><br>I doubt it, they're still good to play in the US! ;
) Only 'bad' leftovers are brought this way... ; )
Funny if Germany wins by a penalty. ; ) I think
that there is more hype than needed... I think that
both teams have a very low possibility of getting past
the next round, as I assume at least one of them will
go to the next round, but I'm not betting on it
though. : )<br><br>I don't know much about Seaman and who
could be the best goalie, I only pretty much know him
from the Zaragoza-Arsenal Cup Winners Cup Final, where
he got embarrassed big time by Nayim. I remember
watching that game and laughing my head off. Just like
watching the fastest recorded goal a couple days ago where
the guy scored on the 2nd touch. That goalie truly
looked silly all the way out there. I never can
understand why a goalie feels he needs to go so far up... to
get a better view of the game? ; )<br><br>Probably
so, but normally, the club's status will greatly
influence a player's possibility of playing with national
team, both per fan influence and also by overall
experience. Man Utd plays many more international matches
against many good teams versus other lesser teams who
only deal with a lot of the weaker teams of the
league. Especially in a league that should change their
symbol to Man Utd's per their easy dominance of the
Premier.... ; )<br><br><br>Italians have not proven anything,
Group B is by far the weakest group... let's see in the
next round how they do. I personally would love to see
Italy get creamed in the next round, as I like them
less than any team in Group A. : )
Well the Czechs got a penalty themselves today,
but it's all over.<br><br>France and Holland don't
really need to battle each other now, and it will be
just like a friendly; although the Dutch will prefer
winning the group to stay in Holland.<br><br>As for the
Czech Republic, well only pride left to play for and
the Danish too. But they'll both be planning their
holidays somewhere; to get as far away as possible from
Euro2000.<br><br>Maybe they should go to the States ;-).
England need to beat the Germans, and there will
be no penalties to worry about this time.<br><br>I
agree that Shearer shouldn't be the captain and I do
hope that David's got his bad game out of the way. If
it wasn't for Seaman though, it could have been
five. He does need to get his defenders doing their job
properly.<br><br>I doubt the Nevilles would be wearing an England
shirt if the weren't playing for Man Utd.<br><br>If
England finish runner-up, it's the Italians
next.<br><br>BTW -- Alex is an Arsenal fan too.
thanks for inviting me here. and you asked a
question and now i will say: of course david seaman is
good enough for england! he is not only the best
keeper in england but he has bags more experience than
all of them and he has served us well. he is top
class and the reason people pick on him is cos he has
such a high standard that if he has a bad game it's a
big shock to everyone! well i hope that answers your
question. also tony adams is the best and should be captain
not shearer, though shearer should still be in the
team just not the captain. and the neville brothers
need to sort themselves out as does our midfield.
basically we HAVE to beat Germany tomorrow night!
: ) Yes, the penalty was pretty nasty, as Holland
definitely did not deserve to win the match in this way.
Even if they played really bad, but won by a 'good'
penalty. Then that's fine, but not like this, especially
being at home. It was like a pity call for them.. : )
LOL! True, very true! You'd be amazed at all the
junk that people eat around here. Good home cooking is
practically non-existent. And I am not gonna count silly
'macaroni and cheese' and other quick, microwave dishes
they consider 'home meals'. Sick! So many people here
look at my wife and I when we buy lots of food that
needs to be prepared at home and requires 'cooking'. We
are not vegetarians. We prefer good Mediterranean
recipes and often order food online from Spain. I miss
going to the market in the mornings and picking the
food you are going to eat that day... : (
I feel sorry for Nemec and he's going to have his
hands full against France; just hope he keeps them away
from shirts.<br><br>The Dutch were very frustraded
against the Czechs but Ronald de Boer can dive as well as
Bergkamp, maybe better. It was a great backward
sommersault.<br><br>The Czechs will be without Latal after that bizzare
sending off from the sidelines.<br><br>The Czech Republic
and Denmark to win?<br><br>That would make the final
Holland -- France and Czech Republic -- Denmark matches
real nailbiters for everyone.<br><br>Here's to
entertainment.
Even from out here in Canada, that infamous
penalty kick against the Czechs looked pretty harsh.
Hopefully, they'll turn their anger and frustration into
some spirited performance and<br>kick some French ass
on Friday (as Denmark should against the Dutch).
Ciao everyone!

Yep, they're chances are looking grim.<br><br>Did
you see anything about the fights outside? News were
mentioning about how a bunch of English fans acted like
Sweden fans, only so they could start fights with the
Turkish, as it was the Turkish who the news says, was
attacked. I personally could believe this, as I don't
recall Sweden and Turkey having any problems between
themselves, and only the English hooligans are the ones being
watched by police. Whoever they are, all people involved
in these fights are complete idiots and I'd love to
see them banned for life, like if that was even
possible.... They make football life worse with their
presence.<br><br><br>England has a score to settle, but Germany also is there
to prove something, too. The way both teams started,
it's a toss-up for me. : )
I doubt it. I just recently signed up to Digital
Cable, which provided some these extra sport channels,
like Fox Sports World who shows much more football
action than the rest. But I assume I would've heard
about it somehow if they did. I do not remember seeing
anything about it. It is so depressing here when related
to football. It's real hard to find people who play
good football, or at least know how to use their feet
other than for walking.<br><br>I only cry in misery. ;
)
Both Denmark and the Czech Republic need to win
to keep Group D alive; lose and they're
out.<br><br>I hope we get two exciting matches after the boring
Sweden -- Turkey game. Both needing a win, both too
scared to lose.<br><br>As for Germany, England do have a
score to settle and there's no penalties this time. Win
for England would do just fine.
Italy are group B winners thanks to the goaless
bore in Eindhoven, between Sweden and
Turkey.<br><br>If England are runners-up in Group B, then they'll
meet the Italians in Brussels on Sat June
24th.<br><br>If Turkey somehow beat Belgium and England top their
group, it could be a match against the Turks in
Amsterdam.<br><br>Of course, neither of these scenarios will
happen.<br><br>What do you think?
I will also check these sites out. I, too, am
stuck in this football-less country of the US. What a
shame of a country who feels that they need to charge
for EURO2000 (or other football events..), but not do
the same for the Super Bowl, Stanley Cup, or the
World Series. Proof on how those behing American TV do
not want football to compete with, too. I can't wait
to get back to Europe (Spain) and live in a country
that truly appreciates art-in-motion. ; )<br><br>I had
thought that Fox Sports World would show the games,
though I should've realized how pathetic they can be,
too. As Fox only shows the English, German, Chilean,
Argentinian, and starting up the Italian - leagues. What about
the freaking Spanish league. Both the Italian and
Spanish leagues are considered the best leagues in the
world (a lot of people consider them BY FAR the best
leagues overall). I hate not being able to watch some
Spanish league games, especially of my favorite team, FC
Barcelona. : (<br><br><br>Anyways, US stinks royally,
another reason they have a 'pathetic' national team who
has a hard time with teams like Iraq. ; )
--Group C--<br><br>Yugoslavia: Great tie with
Slovenia, but still disappointing overall as they were
favored to easily win. 3 goals against questions their
defensive capabilities. Will tie or beat Norway and then
lose to Spain.<br><br>Spain: Bad loss to Norway, GK
mistake. But Slovenia will be the victim after Camacho's
anger with the team who will be pumped up to make up
for it, as Slovenia is overall weaker than Norway.
Should beat Yugoslavia, too, as has done multiple times
in recent past, I believe.<br><br>Norway: Great
historic win against Spain. But Yugoslavia is wounded and
looking for blood, where Norway is too euforic and will
lose. But should still beat Slovenia in the last
game.<br><br>Slovenia: Great start, but then proved their weak side by
allowing 3 goals in 6 minutes to a team of 10 players.
Morale is shot and will notice it against Spain. Also
lose to Norway.<br><br>--Group D--<br><br>France:
Should beat Czech Rep, though minimal goal difference.
Tie/lose to Holland.<br><br>Denmark: Good team, but in
'wrong' group. Likely to lose all games, though best
chances against Czech Rep for at least 1
point.<br><br>Czech Rep: Did not deserve to lose to Holland, will
lose to France by small goal difference as France
seems to be 'hungrier'. Should beat Denmark,
though.<br><br>Holland: Grand favorite, though disappointing start.
Should not have won the 1st game though. Should beat
Denmark with little problem, and should beat France, only
per home field advantage and the 3rd game of the
group. Should be at least 2-3 goals scored in this
game.<br><br><br><br>I still believe that Holland and Spain are the
favorites, with France and Portugal close behind. Italy does
not have the competition to 'practice' with like the
others. Italy has not proven anything, though they did
little to prove anything in WC94 and they got to the
finals. (though the ref failed to call a penalty for
Spain, which would've prevented Italy from going
on...)... : )

Yep, even if it sounds quite naive..I BELIEVE
that Denmark reaches the 1/4-finals....I saw Holland
playing against the Czechs...and I hope theyīll play like
that again...I know itīs only hope and if everything
comes just the expected way than Denmark canīt win any
other game...but itīs much likelier(?) to see than
Germany in the 1/4-finals;), or?
Hi Michel!<br><br>With two key Arsenal players
(Bergkamp and Overmars) in its squad, I have to go with the
Netherlands. Actually, I probably would have wanted them to
win, anyway.<br><br>I'm also extremely upset at U.S.
TV coverage of the event or lack thereof. The only
way to watch games is to go to some Italian bar with
a satellite dish. And on weekdays I cannot even
watch a live game, 'cause I work during the day. Have
to rely on Soccernet.com for live commentary and all
the juicy details.<br><br>Fortunately, this agony
will last only until the quarterfinals, as I will be
in Europe, starting on June 23rd, where I'm sure any
TV in any bar/club will show the games. Looking
forward to that.<br><br>Alex. <br><br>p.s. There is
something wrong with your links or with Themestream,
because I can't access the articles.
