The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced that San Diego
Sockers Robbie Aristodemo and Kevin Sakuda were named to the 2002-03
MISL All-Rookie Team. Aristodemo also finished second in voting for
the MISL Rookie of the Year behind Baltimore's PJ Wakefield.

Aristodemo and Sakuda were the only two Sockers to play in all 36
games this season. Aristodemo finished the season with 38
points ,including two three-point goals and 11 two-point goals. The
midfielder totaled 11 assists and blocked 18 shots during the season.

"It usually takes players a season to adjust and contribute when
playing indoors," says Sockers Head Coach Brian Quinn. "Robbie has
made a big impact in his first year with the Sockers and will be a
huge part of this team's future success."

Sakuda, a defender from Fremont, Calif., registered 31 goals in his
inaugural season with the Sockers. He also totaled 11 points,
including five goals and one assist.

"Kevin has progressed very nicely over the course of the season and I
am glad to see him on the MISL All-Rookie Team with Robbie
[Aristodemo]."

Forward Carlos "Chile" Farias was honored by the league yesterday as
a member of the All-MISL Second Team.

• Genoni Martinez of the Harrisburg Heat was voted the MISL Defender
of the Year. Martinez led the league with 88 blocks while setting a
new single-season record for the Heat. Martinez has also been named
to the 2002-03 All-MISL First Team.

MISL's Top Goalkeeper for the 12th time in his career. Nogueira, once
voted the "Number One Indoor Goalkeeper in the World", has also added
four League MVP Awards to his list of accolades.
