AVP TV offers the Stadium Court Experience to fans everywhere

AVP TV will be streaming the action from Stadium Court in Riverside all weekend long

AVP TV provides live streaming audio and video from AVP’s Stadium Court.
It’s the best way to get close to the action without leaving home!
Watch all the best beach volleyball action from Center Court, including
real-time commentary by the AVP’s emcee extraordinaire, Chris “Geeter”
McGee.

“I am very excited to be a part of AVP TV,” said McGee. “It’s a great way for our core fans to hear the action and be dialed in on center court from anywhere. It’s also an opportunity for our new fans to get to know all the players and see the great athletes on the AVP Crocs Tour. It will change the way people connect with the great sport of beach volleyball.”

“AVP Radio from last year has graduated to AVP TV. The hard work of Marc Werschkul, Carly Keese and Chris McGee pulled off a terrific production for our homebound fans last tournament,“ said Jason Hodell, CEO. “We continue to seek more ways for fans to meet a greater set of players and experience more AVP tournament play from afar.”

The AVP TV schedule for Riverside is as follows:

   Saturday: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. 7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Due to popular demand we have added another winter Volleyball Vacation
for March 2-9 on Oahu, Hawaii. Join top AVP Pro AL-B Hannemann and
others on a Hawaiian experience you will never forget. We are limiting
this trip to a maximum of only 40 people so we can ensure a more
intimate experience with more one on one coaching and interaction.
This will be the 5th time to Oahu for Volleyball Vacations and it is
going to be awesome. Escape the cold and book now before this rare
opportunity is sold out.

We have worked out a deal with our tournament director friend on the
island so that on Saturday March 8 everyone will be allowed to compete
in a local Hawaiian beach volleyball tournament against local players.
There will be an "Unrated" and "A" tournament with prizes and a player
party Saturday night for everyone in the tournament and all volleyball
vacationers. This is a new and exciting addition to volleyball
vacations and we can't wait to train everyone all week and prepare
them for the tournament. It is also a chance to hang out and meet some
of the friendliest and most talented players in he world.

Come join us for lots of volleyball and the best sunsets in the world.
We will have the option to enjoy many excursions including hiking
through bamboo forests, surfing the most famous local spots,
snorkeling trip to Hanuama Bay, trip to the Polynesian cultural center
and even deep sea fishing for monster fish. There are many amazing
things to do on this beautiful island and we can't wait to show you
how to do it local style.

If you are interested in getting in the sun and siding out on Hawaiian
beaches call Dave at Pacific Sports Tours at 310-798-1234 or email at
dm@... for all booking information. The price is
only $995 double occupancy and includes transfers to and from the
airport, a lei greeting, hotel and all volleyball and clinics. Also

Great news for all you volleyball players out there looking to escape this brutal weather and get your feet on beautiful white sand beaches. We will be staying at the sunshine suites resort and playing on the famous seven mile beach.

Learn about the Cayman Islands

This is the original "volleyball vacations" founded by AVP pro beach champion AL-B Hannemann where his AVP buddies have been playing and partying with volleyball enthusiasts at exotic destinations since 1993. We recently returned from the Turks and Caicos islands Volleyball Vacation in November and had an amazing time. We had a pro coaches ratio of better than 1 pro per 5 volleyball vacationers. AVP stars Casey Jennings, Michelle More, Aaron Wachtfogel, Angela Lewis, Anthony Medel, Mark Williams and Jenelle Koester (to name a few) were all there coaching, playing and partying with the crew of over 100 vacationers that joined us.

Check out VBV Blog  for pictures and more information.

Watch the awesome Volleyball Vacations videos

We will offer fun volleyball tournaments, pro work outs, clinics, nutrition advice and daily opportunities to compete with and against the pros. All levels are welcome as everyone will play on courts based on their individual skill level. This vacation is an opportunity to be coached by the best players in the world in a non threatening beautiful atmosphere. You will meet new friends from all over the world and share your passion for volleyball. The common theme that everyone talks about after experiencing these vacations is not only the drastic improvement in their volleyball ability but more importantly the new friends and relationships that are made.

**A typical day...9am-1pm Tournament Play, 1-2pm Lunch, 2:30-4:30pm Clinics, 4:30-5:30pm Open play with the Pro Coaches, 6-7:00pm Happy Hour, 7:30-9:30pm Dinner, 10pm-? Evening Entertainment.

Our emphasis is about creating a vacation where the pros are there for you. If you want to battle in tournaments, pick the mind of a champion, do the drills that they do or just hang out and have a beer with your favorite pro, you have the opportunity to do this for an entire week!

*EVERYONE gets volleyball vacations T-shirts and prizes signed by the pros. We don't only reward the tournament winners but make sure that every single person gets something cool to take home with them. Prizes range from Kerri Walsh signed posters and bathing suits to Aaron Wachtfogel and Casey Jennings signed AVP competition shorts.

Some of the activities that are available are Diving, Stingray City/Turtle Farm, Swim with the sharks, Helicopter Tour, Surf Park, Tour of Island: Pedro's Castle, Blow Holes, Mastic Trail, Rum Point, National Gallery, Kayaking, Day Spa's at Ritz, Deep Sea Fishing, Atlantis Submarine, Nautilus Semi-Sub, Parasailing, Jet Ski's/Watersports and shopping in town. PRESS RELEASE 29.07.2007

AMERICANS SWEEP SWATCH-FIVB WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GOLD MEDALS

Gstaad, Switzerland, July 29, 2007 - The only thing that Todd Rogers
mishandled here Sunday was the opening of a champagne bottle after he and
Phil Dalhausser won the men’s finale to give the United States a sweep of
the gold medals this weekend at the 2007 SWATCH-FIVB World Championships
powered by 1to1 energy.

After eliminating reigning Olympic champions Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos
of Brazil in the morning’s first semi-final match, Dalhausser and Rogers
joined compatriots Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh as USA gold medal
winners this weekend by defeating Dmitri Barsouk and Igor Kolodinsky of
Russia 21-16 and 21-14 in the 45-minute finale.

In addition to sharing the US$60,000 first-place prize in the $1-million
“Beach Volleyball Bash” in the Swiss Alps, Dalhausser and Rogers will
benefit from the 1,000 points towards qualifying for the Beijing 2008
Olympics. A tandem’s best eight finishes on the SWATCH-FIVB World Tour
through July 20, 2008 will count towards qualifying for the 24-team field.

“This weekend was about Beach Volleyball, but not just about Beach
Volleyball,” said the 33-year Rogers, who was named the SWATCH most
outstanding player for the SWATCH-FIVB World Championships. “For me, these
experiences are what I will remember. It not only is the competition, but
it is about the fans in the stands, the beautiful surroundings and the
overall atmosphere of good feelings generated this weekend.”

Rogers also added, that his partner “was the real outstanding player for the
event. I bet Phil that he would be the SWATCH top player for the event
since this was a homecoming for him and his family. I share this award with
him as he is becoming one of the great players in the world. I am lucky to
have him as a partner.”

Sunday’s title was the second SWATCH gold medal for the Americans, who won
for the first time on the FIVB tour last August in Austria where Dalhausser
and Rogers defeated Emanuel and Ricardo for the title. The next stop on the
international circuit is next week in Austria where Dalhausser and Rogers
will be defending their Klagenfurt title as the reigning SWATCH-FIVB World
Champions.

“It is a tremendous feeling to win this title in front of my parents and
relatives,” said the 27-year old Dalhausser, who lived a year in Switzerland
before moving to the United States with his Swiss mother and German father.
“We played two quality opponents today. Except for the second set against
the Brazilians, we had a great day.”

Rogers and Dalhausser advanced to the gold medal match by posting a 21-16,
13-21 and 19-17 win in 68 minutes over Emanuel and Ricardo, who captured the
2003 SWATCH-FIVB World Championships in Rio de Janeiro before claiming
Olympic gold the next year in Athens.

Barsouk and Kolodinsky, who shared $45,000 for second-place as the first
Russian men’s or women’s team to play in a SWATCH-FIVB World Tour gold medal
match in the 20-plus-year history of the International circuit, advanced to
the title match with a 21-13 and 21-19 win in 45 minutes over Andrew Schacht
and Joshua Slack of Australia.

In the bronze medal match, Schacht and Slack ended Brazil’s run of men’s
medals at the SWATCH-FIVB World Championships as the Australians upset
Emanuel and Ricardo 21-17 and 21-19 win in 42 minutes to capture the $35,000
third-place prize. The Brazilians split $28,000 for fourth-place.

The eighth of 13 double gender stops on the 2007 SWATCH-FIVB World Tour, the
women’s 2007 SWATCH-FIVB World Championships ended Saturday with reigning
Olympic champions May-Treanor and Walsh defeating Jia Tian and Jie Wang of
China 21-16 and 21-10 for their third-straight world title.

Hey. I'm new to the group-list. I'm a former southern California beach player, now a 20 yr Anchorage resident.  I played 2 man sand tournaments at the A level years ago in Manhattan Beach and San Diego and still play competitively when I go down to LA to visit 3-4 times a year in winters. (Don't play indoor ball, just never liked the crowd).  I recently decided I'm tired of not playing at home outside in the summer, so I'm building a sand court in my backyard.

Anyone out there with suggestions for a good sand source in the Anchorage area?
Anyone out there interested in playing 2 person sand ball?
I'm certainly open to co-ed or not.  Just looking for some local players to have fun.

Much obliged,
Dana Seagars

Is there any vball in Anchorage. I am from Boise, Idaho where I have played at the top competitive level in League play, just below power. Looking for open gym or outdoor grass ball. If I could find enough players, I would set up a grass net a couple of times a week.

Sunday August 20th at 4:30pm (ET). Catch both the Men and Women as they
battle for big prize money at the AVP Crocs Tour's debut in the state
of New York.

The rivalry on the sand between the top two men's teams has heated up
as top-seeded Mike Lambert and Stein Metzger and second-seeded Phil
Dalhausser and Todd Rogers have met in the finals of the previous two
AVP finals. In Chicago, Lambert and Metzger swept Dalhausser and Rogers
21-16, 21-18. While Dalhausser and Rogers exacted their revenge this
past Sunday at the Historic Manhattan Beach Open defeating Lambert and
Metzger 22-20, 21-23, 15-11. Combined, these two teams have won nine of
the eleven 2006 AVP Crocs Tour events.

In the race for the Crocs Cup, awarded to the best men's and
women's team at the conclusion of the AVP Crocs Tour, just 20 points
separate Lambert/Metzger and Dalhausser/Rogers. With increased points
available in network events, both teams will bring their best game to
Coney Island. Tune in to the Men's final live on NBC on Saturday,
August 19 at 4:30pm (ET).

The path to the women's championship will be different in Coney
Island as partner switches have continued. Elaine Youngs and Nancy
Mason, fresh off their second place finish at the Manhattan Beach Open
last Saturday, will line up next to new partners. Youngs will team with
Nicole Branagh, the 2005 AVP Rookie of the Year, while Mason will
partner with AVP Star Tyra Turner. Branagh's former partner and
career victories leader Holly McPeak will partner with two-time indoor
Olympian Logan Tom.

The one constant on the women's side has been the dominant play of
2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh.
May-Treanor and Walsh, the number one team in the world, have won nine
of the eleven AVP Crocs Tour events this year, including a victory last
weekend in the AVP Manhattan Beach Open. In New York, the duo will look
to win their tenth event of the year, which would set the record for
most regular season wins by a women's team. May-Treanor and Walsh won
nine regular season events in 2005. Tune in to the Women's final live
on NBC on Sunday, August 20 at 4:30pm (ET) to see if May-Treanor and
Walsh can set the record.

Other AVP stars heating up the beach will be 2000 Olympic Gold
Medalists Dain Blanton and Eric Fonoimoana, three-time Olympic Gold
Medal winner Karch Kiraly, and 2005 AVP Best Defensive Player Rachel
Wacholder.

Do not miss the hottest action of beach LIVE on NBC Saturday August
19th and Sunday August 20th at 4:30pm (ET).

The competition is sure to be fierce and you do not want to miss a
single serve, dig or spike.
