Hi, shank, I too am looking for outdoor stuff and I have heard of the
mosquito flex, but have no idea where to get in touch with those
people! I'd love to get some info on that event as well as info on
outdoor stuff for our LONG summer.
Sincerely,
Aurora
I spoke with a gentleman that told me there might be a tournament
called Mosquito Flex, held in Fairbanks. If so, can someone find
information (website, phone number, email address) for me about this
tournament? Thanks so much!
I know that ASA - Anchoragesportsassociation.com does sand vball leagues in the
summer. REALLY big. I
think that there are like 50-75 teams (various divisions).

I got some good information about courts run by thte parks and rec
department in Fairbanks. Any other locations to play? Does anyone
hold tournaments in the sand in Alaksa? How about Grass tournaments?
Are there places to play sand volleyball in Alaska? I am very
interested in finding out as much as I can about bars that have
volleyball courts, parks that have grass or sand courts, or beaches
that have permanent nets set up. Any information would be helpful.

The Games of the XXVIII Olympiad in Athens, Greece have begun!
NBC will feature the Opening Ceremony on Friday, Aug. 13, at 8 p.m. ET/PT
The television broadcasts of the Summer Games will consist of 1,210 hours
of coverage -- nearly three-times the 441.5 hours from Sydney in 2000
and more than seven-times the 171.5 hours from Atlanta in 1996
So... when might you be able to watch some VOLLEYBALL ?
It will take some searching...
With searching you will find that - USA Men vs. Italy is scheduled to run
at 12:30 in the morning. Which day? Which channel?

Summer is on it's way and we have many sand tournaments planned for
the Growden courts this summer in Fairbanks.
We're out there playing every Wednesday night from 7pm - ???
Friday Night from 7pm - ??? and Sunday from noon - ???
I will try to get a tournament schedule out soon for those who might
be interested.
We usually have 4-6 summer tournaments.
We have coed doubles and tripples, and Men's and Women's Doubles.
and a king of the beach tournamnt at some time.
We hold a Midnight Sun All Nighter on the weekend closest to the
solstace. The tournament usually starts at 10pm.
All are welcome. We sometimes split into two levels depeding on the
skill levels of the teams.
There is also going to be a girls beach league targeted at
high school girls.
And....of course the famous Flex Mosuito doubles tournament which is
often called the Alaskan Beach Championships is usually held the last
week in July.
Our first almost-outdoor tournament of the season is the Spring
Smash.
It's an indoors tripples tournament held at UAF in early May.
For more info on the Spring Smash you can contact
Kevin Raap at fnkmr@...
If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch with me.
There are teams that drive up from Anchorage so I might be able to
connect you with teams planning to travel up for events this summer.
If you live in Anchorage you should know that Fairbanks is usually
sunny and warmer than Anchorage during June and July.
