I'm Dan Kelly! My wife, Gabriela and I developed HighDesertTennis (join
below) because of the years of High Elevation Training we've done in
order to stay in shape for being effective Club Professionals in
Tennis!! After having developed and managed our Club in Washington, DC
(TennisLink.org) ..we've moved here and are ready for camps and members.
If you're playing the Ad side or the Deuce side, the scenery is
spectacular! The picture at right, shot over the Red Clay Tennis Court,
is of Cerro Pedernal..New Mexico's famous flat topped mountain after
Evening Doubles.
With a combined level of coaching experience exceeding 75,000 client
hours, and having produced well in excess of 200 tournaments, we believe
in a 3 level (physical-mental-spiritual) approach to tennis training).
The Spirit..as in attitude comes with the confidence derived from the
hard work involved in our program. The mental involves focus and mental
toughness (we are WAY out in the country..our program is the only focus
here). Our elevation (6,300ft)..and the training employed in our camps
(light weights, mtn biking, day hiking and backpacking) raises the bar
and challenges our athletes to excel!
Our tennis facility is red clay. We've chosen this surface because it
promises the basis for form work and it's inherent quality to challenge
players endurance.
Our climate, high desert, is idealy suited for training, although one
must consume more fluids than they're perhaps used to. The ball moves
fast..but then stands up to hit! We get about 300 days a year of
sunshine.
Diet is stressed here, and proper food is provided in our camps!
If you are a USTA Captain, take special notice and arrange a group thru
us for your teams training. We can set the training as strenuous or as
light and fun as you like!
If you are a tennis family, you'll have a most incredible Vacation here
in Georgia O'Keeffe Counrty (Mother of American Landscape Painting).
