US trials: 200m, 800m, 100h.   Message List

US trials, Carson, California.

200m
1 Allyson Felix 22.13 WL
2 Rachelle Smith 22.22
3 LaTasha Colander 22.34
The victory of Felix was expected. Rachelle Smith is the surprise.
Nobody managed to qualify for both the 100&200m.

800m
1 Hazel Clark 1'59
2 Kameisha Bennett 2'00"59
3 Alice Smith 2'02
Only Hazel Clark qualified for Helsinki, because the A limit is
2'00"00. Defending champion Jearl Clark didn't start.

100h
1 Michelle Perry 12.66
2 Joanna Hayes 12.77
3 Virginia Powell 12.87
It's the second time in two weeks that Perry wins against Hayes. I
wonder what she will do in the international competitions. Danielle
Carruthers didn't finish the race, so there was place for a
surprising third.

Hyleas Fountain wins the heptathlon.

Also see the temporarily news links for photos etc.
