Tirunesh Dibaba didn't have to run against Defar this time, because the latter missed her plain. She ran a final lap in 58.70. Edith Masai was second.

Sanya Richards was behind Tonique Williams at 80m from the finish, but still won, ahead of Bulgarian Stambolova. Dibaba and Richards both won 4 out of 4 GL meetings this summer.

Michelle Perry and Sherone Simpson confirmed to be the best of the moment.
