Texas opens this Friday, May 1st. No silly costumes...no pink girly, girl
stuff...this is a real adventure race for women...designed by women! New this
year a solo division -for the more experienced girls- and teams of 2 will
mountain bike on the new trails at Lake Bastrop Park, trek and paddle to check
points throughout the race. Winning time 3 hours with a generous 5 hour cut off.
Basic map and compass skills are needed. No plotting. Required gear: mountain
bike (fun, beginner friendly trails), helmet, method of carrying water with you
on the course, cell phone in dry bag, running shoes, canoe or kayak (rentals
available), paddle, pfd, and a compass. Showers and restrooms at the park. There
will be weekly training sponsored by Austin Luna Chix starting next Wed and a
weekend training day at the race site TBA. All participants will receive a cute
women's cut Zorrel dry fit race shirt and due to popular request, I'll also have
a limited quantity of "See Jane" baby T's for sale.
