Re: [adventureracegirl] Safari Boot Camp

Debbie,

I am thinking about signing up for this.  I am going to ask Joy if she is interested this afternoon.  I am planning to help her train every Wednesday night and I am looking for a way to improve my fitness.  Let me know if you have a partner and I will let you know if Joy is going to join in or not.

3rd solo,

I have Personal Trainer Certification from the Aerobics and Fitness
Association of America and United States Canoe Association Instructor
Certification.

If you have an experienced Safari mentor willing to paddle with you
and do drills with you for many hours then by all means do that. If
not, this is your ticket. We're going to portage until you're fast
and efficient at portaging.

We're going to put you on an ergo paddling machine with mirrors and
get your stroke on the right track.

The only way to paddle faster is to paddle faster. We're going to
sprint. Show up and you're going to go faster.

We're going to do: Running with the boat, running, suicides, pull-
ups, pushups, variations of sit-ups you never heard of, lunges,
planks, circuit training, etc.

In the 06 triathlon I ran the bank for a friend of mine. I weighed
195 pounds and wound up running up and down the hill at Spencer's a
couple of times. I thought I was going to croak. It was a wake up
call for how deconditioned I had become. I decided then I wanted to
race again. Last winter I participated in my first boot camp exercise
program. Man was that tough. I lost 40 pounds. After 26 years of
racing down the San Marcos river I broke my PR that I had set in 1985
in high water. Needless to say I'm impressed with the boot camp
program. I have contracted with Results Fitness to put on a boot camp
for safari racing. It will be fun and you will get faster!
Phil

PS This is a positive motivation boot camp, not SCREAM IN YOUR FACE
silliness.
