Learn the skills of navigation, mountain biking and paddling from
the experts. Register for clinic by emailing Debbie at
argirlinfo@.... You will need to register in order to get a
map.Cost $25 per person. Proceeds to benefit Austin Adventure Racers
Club.Registered ARG Challenge racers are FREE.

Location: Zilker Park Austin Texas. Park and meet under the Mopac
Bridge south side on Stratford just before you get to the Rowing

The women's adventure race clinic will start at 8:30am. This clinic
is designed to help prepare women for the ARG Challenge Women's
Adventure Race in Bastrop on June 23, 2007 and introduce them into
the sports of paddling, mountain biking and land navigation. The
instructors are experts in their field so whether you are new to the
sport or just want to improve your skills, everyone that
participates will learn something!

SCHEDULE:
8:00am Check in, instructions, clinic overview

8:30am Adventure Racing 101 (learn some top tips from seasoned
adventure racers)

9:30am How to fix your bike in a race and free bike fit
sponsored by Southwest Cyclesports

10:30am Bike skills for adventure racing taught by expert mountain
biker and TMBRA Series State Champion Larry Spurgeon

11:30am – Noon Break/lunch/transition from bike to paddle. Meet at
The Rowing Dock.

Noon Paddling skills with expert paddler and Texas Water Safari
finisher Cindy Muerer. Bring a boat, rent a boat or try out some of
our boats for fun.

1:00pm Navigation class with expert navigator and certified
instructor Paul Murphy.

2:00pm – 3:00pm Navigation practice. Have some fun and test your
skills! Go out and find some checkpoints.

Suggested Gear List: boat, paddle, pfd, pen, paper, compass, UTM
grid if you have one (you do not need to plot points for the race
but it is nice to know how), mountain bike (for the purpose of this
clinic and the race you do not need suspension), helmet required,
bike and running shoes, lunch/snacks, cooler/ice, water/drinks,
chair, hat, sunscreen, $10 boat rental, change of clothes, towel. If
you do not have a boat or a mountain bike, you may still observe and
learn although you will get more out of the day if you do. There
will be a few boats available that you may try. Come for the entire
clinic or just a portion, but please sign in and out before you
leave. Helmets and PFDs are required! Boat rentals include pfds and
paddles.

IF YOU HAVE NOT REGISTERED FOR THE CLINIC, PLEASE EMAIL
argirlinfo@... and just let us know you are coming so we'll
know how many women to expect. You will not have a map if you don't
register.
