I must unfortunately let everyone know that Club Sliding on Saturday,
April 5th, has been cancelled. The track time has been recalled as
part of the Bobsled America's Cup weekend.
On April 12th, we will be sharing the club sliding time with the USLA
Fantasy Camp sliders. Like last year, the Fantasy Camp sliders will
intermix with our runs, but they will have priority.
In truth, our April 12th session was cancelled as well – the time was
assigned to the Fantasy Camp. However, Gordy Sheer was kind enough to
offer up the time to us as sliders, with the caveat that the Fantasy
Campers will slide when they're ready to go.
As a result, I'll set the expectation that the session is likely a
3-run day for those that make the trip up.
I'm also not going to accept any further sign-ups for that date. If
you're not on the roster already, it's closed.
This puts a premium on the two weekends we have left for sliding,
March 22, and the weekend of Mar 29/30.
I encourage anyone who can slide that weekend to come up the 29th and
30th.
Saturday the 29th at Noon is the Annual Club Meeting.
The Annual Club Race is that evening at the track (meet at 5pm, we
race at 6pm)
The Slider Search clinic is the following morning (meet at 7am, kids
on the ice at 8am)
Because our slider search signup has been disappointing (OK, there's
ZERO signup to this point), we're going to open that session to youth
sliders as well. It's possible that as we get closer, we may be able
to offer up runs to adult sliders also. We'll play it by ear.
All in all, that's where we stand, and I look forward to seeing you
all soon!
