Being a Sport Luge Club sanctioned by the United States Luge
Association involved a lot more than exciting sliding we all enjoy.
We have some annual requirements to assist USLA in their recruiting
and development efforts.

As part of that effort, our club will be conducting an on-track Luge
Screening Clinic for the very first time. This clinic will be taking
place on Sunday, March 30 from 7:30 am until 2:00 pm, with track time
from 8:00 – 10:00 am. This is an exciting new opportunity for us to
share our sport with the youth of our region.

We will be inviting youths aged 11-14 to experience luge for the first
time, and to show if they have the interest, aptitude, and desire to
be considered by the USLA coaching staff as potential candidates for
the formal development program.

Your board needs your help in a number of ways to make this happen,
and we would appreciate everyone stepping forward to assist – some in
a small manner, some in a larger manner.

We are looking for volunteers who can help us to man registration,
escorting the parents that will be there, assisting with the physical
screening tasks in the gym, and a number of other "helping hands" roles.

This is the same weekend as the ADK Club race and our annual club
meeting (formal notice to arrive shortly) that both take place the day
before.

So, if you or your child enjoys access to the Lake Placid track, and
the expertise of the USA Luge Olympic-caliber coaching staff, this is
one of those things we do to "give back."
