Where: Daytona International Speedway When: February 17, 2005 What: Exhibition Race Once qualifying is over, the field is set by merging the highest ranked 35 teams in the owner standings with the fastest seven cars not in those 35 positions, in the order of their qualifying speeds. The 43rd position is reserved for a former champion, provided he is not already qualified and satisfies the rulebook's criteria. If unused by a former champion, it goes to the next fastest car in qualifying. The lone exception is the Daytona 500, which uses qualifying and two 150-mile races to determine the field. 1 88 Dale Jarrett Ford UPS 2 24 Jeff Gordon Chevrolet DuPont 3 11 Jason Leffler Chevrolet FedEx Express 4 97 Kurt Busch Ford Sharpie/IRWIN Industrial Tools 5 21 Ricky Rudd Ford Motorcraft 6 38 Elliott Sadler Ford M&M's 7 45 Kyle Petty Dodge Georgia-Pacific/Brawny 8 23 Mike Skinner Dodge Bill Davis Racing 9 16 Greg Biffle Ford National Guard 10 9 Kasey Kahne Dodge Dodge Dealers/UAW 11 5 Kyle Busch* Chevrolet Kellogg's 12 42 Jamie McMurray Dodge Texaco/Havoline 13 0 Mike Bliss Chevrolet NetZero Best Buy 14 99 Carl Edwards Ford Office Depot 15 4 Mike Wallace Chevrolet Lucas Oil Products 16 12 Ryan Newman Dodge ALLTEL 17 33 Kerry Earnhardt Chevrolet Bass Pro Shops 18 15 Michael Waltrip Chevrolet NAPA Auto Parts 19 41 Casey Mears Dodge Target 20 49 Ken Schrader Dodge Schwan's Home Service 21 8 Dale Earnhardt Jr. Chevrolet Budweiser 22 100 Kenny Wallace Chevrolet Aaron's 23 09 Johnny Sauter Dodge Miccosukee Gaming & Resorts 24 66 Hermie Sadler Ford Peak Fitness 25 77 Travis Kvapil* Dodge Kodak/Jasper Engines 26 192 Stanton Barrett Chevrolet First Trust Portfolios 27 89 Morgan Shepherd Dodge Victory in Jesus/Red Line Oil 28 34 Randy LaJoie Chevrolet Mach One Inc. 29 193 Geoffrey Bodine Chevrolet Big Boar Motorcycles http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/2005/101/data/lineup.html
