You're right, my quick search of McMaster Carr ( www.mcmaster.com )
showed that they have many different types of foam that may be
suitable. Of course, they also have many types of velcro and they
probably have the glue you need, too.

McMaster Carr is a magical place.... ;)

I don't know what stores are in you're area, but if you have a Micheals or other craft store, they should carry heavy duty Velcro - also most home improvement...
