We are in the process of arranging to have Tom Leoni come up to
Vancouver to teach a weekend seminar, possibly in mid-october.
Date, location, and content of the seminar are still to be decided...as
is cost. It will likely be somewhere in the $100 range, though.
We need a few things at this point! First, we need a show of hands of
who is willing to attend. Secondly, we need a few volunteers to help
organize and run things.
I'm sure most of you are wondering who Tom is. He's the author of the
upcoming translation of Salvatore Fabris' rapier manual:
http://www.chivalrybookshelf.com/ and a very nice guy. He's also a
*very* good fencer. $100 is a value for a weekend!
The weekend will also be limited in attendance, so AD students will
have priority on booking a spot in the seminar, as well as a better
price!
If there is space left in the seminar, we will be inviting up some of
the southern WMA schools as well as local SCA fencers...but if you are
interested, you'll want to jump quick. :)
I'm just a tad excited about this!! :)
BTW, we are thinking of maybe having Tom teach Bolognese pole-weapons,
and Bardi solo practice forms for sword. If we do this, these classes
will count as class credits towards Cord exams...as will the main part
of the seminar.
so, lets hear your thoughts!
