Last night we had our MMA advanced class. We started at 6PM by
going to the YMCA and doing lap swimming. We swam 500 meters
nonstop with a goal of doing it in 12 min 30 sec or less. We didn't
quite make that time but we all did rather well (okay so we're not
ready to become Navy SEALs...yet). Before we left the Y we did 100
knee strikes in the water. When we got back to the dojo we did 300
situps because we only had three people show up, Bill, JD, and
Marty. Afterthat we worked on boxing using the FIT dvd. We went
through the dvd 3 times then finished the evening by working on
knees strike against an opponent.
Great job JD and Marty. To everyone else, where were you?
Needless to say I'm a little disapointed. This shows a serious lack
of dedication. Training is not something you do for 2 weeks then
quit. It's a way of life. If you want to reach your goals then you
have got to put forth the effort. You get out of this exactly what
you put into it. It's not fun giving up soda pop, candy, bread,
fast food and all the other things that go along with training this
way but the final result is worth it. I guess it comes down to if
you want your hand raised or not in your next fight. The time to
determine who wins is not in the ring but during the training the
months leading up to a fight. Nuff said.
