"POINT OF NO RETURN" TONIGHT IN BERWYN!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #34 of 42 |
TONIGHT, Saturday, 6/21 AAW returns to the Berwyn Eagles Club (6309
26th Street) in Berwyn, IL for "Point of No Return '08". This is the
last stop before "Scars and Stripes IV" on 7/12 and what was already
a huge card has now become even bigger in the last 48 hours. Loyal
AAW fans will be treated to a night they will not soon forget. On
this card is a double main event including an AAW Heavyweight title
match over one year in the making as well as the finale of one of AAW
most memorable rivalries. A lot will go down tonight. Let's look at
the card.

AAW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

JERRY LYNN w/ Jim Jesus (c)

VS
"The Gold Standard"
ERIC PRIEST

A match AAW fans have been demanding for over a year finally goes
down Saturday night as Eric Priest finally goes one on one with the
champion Jerry Lynn. Priest held the AAW Heritage Title for 11 months
and many believed it was inevitable that he would get a shot at the
Heavyweight belt. It has come to light that the contract for this
match was on the table late last year but thanks to Jim Jesus and his
shrewd negotiating the match was never signed. The last time we saw
Lynn he looked impressive as he defeated MDogg20 in a match that many
felt was a throw back to Lynn's days as ECW champion. Priest has
declared he may not have much time left in the business as nagging
injuries are beginning to take their toll. He has told everyone this
is the last goal he needs to achieve in his career and he plans on
leaving it all in the ring Saturday night. Expect a "big fight
atmosphere" at the Eagles Club for this one. Will Lynn once again
turn back a challenger or will Priest fulfill his destiny and walk
out of Berwyn with the AAW Heavyweight title belt?

FINAL CONFRONTATION- STAIRWAY TO HELL MATCH

TYLER BLACK

VS
MAREK BRAVE

This Saturday night fans will witness the final chapter between Black
and Brave. The most heated and personal rivalry in AAW history comes
to a violent end as the Stairway to Hell match becomes the ultimate
battleground. Just two months ago these men put their bodies on the
line in a no DQ match that saw the fight spill all over the Eagles
Club. Both men unleashed death defying maneuvers including Black
leapfrogging a 12ft ladder to put Brave through a table in the front
row. However it was Marek Brave who came away from that match with
his hand raised and Black has never defeated his former best friend.
Both men come into the match knowing they may never be same
afterward. Barbed wire will be hung from the Eagles Club ceiling and
whoever can climb the ladder and retrieve it can use it on his
opponent. These two men are no strangers to the wire and they know
the pain that can be inflicted. Fans, you will not want to miss the
final chapter in the Black vs Brave saga Saturday night!

GRUDGE MATCH

"The Human Massacre"
KEITH WALKER w/ Dave Prazak

VS
"Skullkrusher"
RASCHE BROWN

This is a match that was originally slated to take place at Scars and
Stripes on 7/12 until Keith Walker was booked for a tour with Pro
Wrestling Noah in Japan. Both men demanded the match get moved up and
Saturday night the battle of the two biggest monsters in AAW will go
down. Walker has been on a path of destruction since the fans did not
welcome him back to AAW and he is now under the advisement of Dave
Prazak. Walker wanted to make a statement and he did just that when
he cost Rasche Brown his shot at the Heritage title. Never one to
back down from a fight, Rasche went after Walker in the parking lot
last month and a wild brawl ensued. In an interview this past weekend
Rasche had some cryptic words for Walker as he told him not to pack
his bags yet as he may not make it to Japan. Saturday night we will
find out who the baddest big man in AAW really is.

FATE OF EIGHT WINNER JOSH ABERCROMBIE WILL BE IN THE HOUSE

After his controversial win over Silas Young in the Fate of Eight
finals and his shocking attack on Silas after the match the former
fan favorite Josh Abercrombie will be in Berwyn Saturday night
without his trademark mustache. What does the man with a guaranteed
title shot have in store for AAW next?

TAG TEAM CHALLENGE MATCH

JJ Inc w/ Jim Jesus
TRIK DAVIS & DANNY DANIELS

VS
THE PHOENIX TWINS

Davis and Daniels got a big win last month in a 4 way tag match that
moves them right up the rankings. The Phoenix Twins feel they had the
match won until Trik Davis stole the pinfall on Bryce Benjamin. Now
these four men will do battle this Saturday. Does an AAW Tag Team
title shot await the winners at Scars and Stripes?

*AAW OFFICIALS PROMISE SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR FANS IN ATTENDANCE

promised the loyal AAW fans who choose to attend "Point of No Return"
this weekend will not be disappointed as they have special surprise
