Tonight, Saturday, 6/16 All American Wrestling returns to the Berwyn
Eagles Club (6309 26th Street in Berwyn, IL) for "Point of No
Return `07". The pressure is on as this is the last stop before Scars
and Stripes III on July 14th and the entire lockeroom will be looking
to step up their game and earn a spot on the biggest show of the
year. Let's take a closer look at the card.
AAW HERITAGE TITLE MATCH
"The Gold Standard"
ERIC PRIEST (c)
vs
BJ WHITMER w/ Dave Prazak
By far the biggest Heritage Title match in the history of the company
as Eric Priest puts the belt on the line against DP Associates BJ
Whitmer. Priest has been on an absolute roll this year and has run
through everyone put in front of him. This Saturday he faces his
biggest challenge as Whitmer is a world class athlete who is looking
to bring home the gold to Dave Prazak's camp. After winning the
title "The Gold Standard" promised to elevate the Heritage
Championship to the top prize in AAW and if he can get by a wrestler
the caliber of Whitmer on Saturday he will be well on his way to
accomplishing that goal. Will Eric Priest continue his streak of
victories or will Whitmer and Prazak be the men to end his
unbelievable run?
CHALLENGE MATCH
NIGEL McGUINESS
vs
JAY RYAN
Nigel returns to AAW after several impressive showings at the end of
2006. When it was announced that McGuiness had an open contract for
this Saturday's event, Jay Ryan was the first man who stepped up and
signed the dotted line. The big man from Cut `n Shoot Texas has been
making quite a name for himself as of late and sees McGuiness as
another stepping stone on his way back to a title shot. McGuiness is
far from a push over and this will be a very physical battle pitting
the mat wrestling and technical skills of Nigel McGuiness against the
rough, rugged, smashmouth style of Jay Ryan.
JIMMY JACOBS WILL BE AT POINT OF NO RETURN, AND HE WILL NOT BE
ALONE!!!
Jacobs first run in AAW was controversial to say the least. He
captured the AAW Heritage Title and then began to get under the skin
of AAW CEO Billy Whack. After numerous no shows, and doctors notes,
Whack made the ruling that if Jacobs were to lose the Heritage title
he would be fired. On March 10th 2007 Eric Priest defeated him for
the championship and Billy Whack, true to his word publicly fired the
arrogant young star. Just when we thought we had seen the end of
Jimmy Jacobs in AAW he shows up unannounced at last months event.
Turns out there was a lot going on behind the scenes as Jacobs had
threatened a wrongful termination lawsuit since he was fired while
nursing a legit knee injury. As a settlement Jacobs was given a one
year contract as a manager. Dressed in all black, Jacobs promised he
was brining in some of his "friends" a proclaimed a funeral for AAW
was on the horizon. Everyone in AAW is buzzing about the identities
of Jacobs new crew and also the status of Billy Whack as his own
contract expired on June 1st. Whack will be in the building this
Saturday and this situation could have a big impact on the future of
AAW as we know it.
4 WAY MAYHEM MATCH
"MDogg20"
MATT CROSS
vs
SILAS YOUNG
vs
CHRISTIAN YORK
vs
JAYSON REIGN
The 4 way Mayhem match has become an AAW staple and has provided many
classic and exciting moments. This one will be no different as all
four men look to climb their way up the AAW rankings. Fan favorite
Mdogg returns and will look to utilize his high flying, kamikaze
style offense. Silas Young has showed a vicious streak as of late and
has turned his back on the AAW fans. He is still one of the best
overall athletes on the roster and will be dangerous in a match like
this. Former ECW star Christian York looks to make a statement in
this match as he continues his come back. The veteran Jayson Reign
rounds out the field and is coming off a hard fought KO victory over
his nemesis Chandler McClure last month.
GRUDGE MATCH
DANNY DANIELS
vs
TYLER BLACK w/ JJ Inc
An issue that has been boiling for months comes to a head this
Saturday as Danny Daniels takes on former AAW Heavyweight Champion
and his former protégé' Tyler Black. Black's actions have been
despicable as of late and he has stated he never needed Daniels
guidance and was being held back by the man who broke him into the
business. Black then crossed the line back in March when he urinated
on the grave of Daniels recently deceased father while Jim Jesus and
JJ Inc looked on. These two men cannot wait to tear each other apart
and they will get their chance at Point of No Return.
AAW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS ZACH GOWEN AND KROTCH w/ NIKKI WILL DEFEND THE
TITLES
The unlikely duo of Gowen and Krotch are still champs after Krotch
successfully defended the titles last month against the Phoenix Twins
(thanks to some help from Hollister and Benjaimin.) Zach Gowen missed
the show due to checking into the hospital earlier that day. We hope
to find out more on this issue Saturday as the champs will both be
present to defend the Tag Team titles.
TAG TEAM GRUDGE MATCH
THE PHOENIX TWINS w/ Joey Eastman
vs
SHANE HOLLISTER and BRYCE BENJAMIN
Another very personal issue in this one as Benjamin and Hollister
seek revenge against Eastman and the Phoenix Twins. Eastman fooled
everyone with his "Lucas" persona and when the time was right gave
the order for the Twins to try and end the careers of Shane and
Bryce. Eastman then had the audacity to strike their former valet
Jadie who was pregnant! This match is not only a grudge match in the
truest sense of the word but will also have a huge impact on the tag
team rankings.
