We need your help this week. The city is looking at this as a positive
project. With your help, Ann Arbor can have the skatepark of your
dreams. Read on.
Ann Arbor Skatepark Action Committee
How can you help?
Do research:
Last week, Dug and I met with a few folks from the Ann Arbor Parks
Advisory Commission. They want to work to get a skatepark built in Ann
Arbor. But, they need more info about what it means to have a
skatepark, and what it costs.
We need your help to get this information. We need you to call other
cities and ask them a few questions about their free, concrete public
skateparks. It only takes about 10 minutes. Here are the links to the
sheet with info on who to call and what to ask (copy and paste if
they’re not active links):

Send us the info once you have it, and we’ll use it at future meetings.
Spread the word:
We need people to go around town and put up flyers for the skatepark
meeting coming up on Saturday, August 4th. You can use the links below
to print out your own, or call Launch to see if they have some you can
post. If you need some printed, email us and we’ll get some printed
pronto.

Also, tell everyone you know that you are working to get a world-class
skatepark built here in Ann Arbor. If they have questions about it
that you cannot answer, direct them to a2skatepark.org, or the
a2skatepark myspace page.
Get a sticker and stick it!
The stickers are available directly from Launch, or you can email us
and we’ll get you one. They cost a buck, and each dollar goes toward
helping the cause.
Come to the meetings:
Your input is going to make this skatepark great. Your knowledge of
the process is going to help you convince non-skaters that this is a
good idea. When you come to the meetings, you can talk to us face to
face, and tell us what you think. We are open to all ideas, and want
everyone involved to make this something that the whole community can
be proud of. We realize that everyone can’t make it to every meeting,
but try to make as many as you can.
