Thanks to everyone who came out to the A2 Skatepark meeting tonight. Extra special thanks to Will and Jarred from Launch for opening the store for us, as Eric is out of town.

We talked more about things you can do to help out the cause. Within the next couple weeks weÕre going to start the dialogue with the parks commission and city council. What can you do to help? Well, we need research done on other parks. Please check out the research form to help you when calling to get info. If you can call one city that has a skatepark and find out how they did it and how itÕs gone over, that would help us out a lot. We need this info when talking to city officials. WE CANNOT DO IT ALONE!

We watched a video sampler of some Michigan skateparks to show what weÕre talking about when we say that Ann Arbor needs a ÒskateparkÓ. Check out the quicktime movie , or email me  for a DVD version. When you watch, keep in mind that there are things we want to do that these places have done, and things we don't. We can learn a lot by looking at (and skating) other parks.

We are selling ÒI Support the Ann Arbor SkateparkÓ stickers for a buck. Every dollar donated to this project helps a bunch. Those who were at the meeting tonight got one FREE! (Thanks again for coming!)

The next meeting of The Ann Arbor Skatepark Action Committee is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 4th, 7:00 pm at Launch board Shop. The date may change, depending on when we are able to schedule meetings with the parks advisory commission and city council.
