As for ESPN? I agree, they "EAT IT" They fall in the same category as the rest of Chicago sports fans who doubt their team will prevail... losing seasons have that effect as well. Any one else turn off the ESPN broadcast during the Ozzie programming? I say !@#$ them if don't like Ozzy's style of managing. We all knew he would be entertaining.
Go Sox, Go!
If Steve Stone would do more ESPN Sox games, he'd be more than fair. He's very high on the Sox this season.
Go figure... I bitch about Crede and he hits a HR today! Now, let's see who else
I can bitch
about... Paulie? Rowand? Uribe? Maybe then they'll start hitting. LOL.
Anyways, you're right. We won again tonight and let's enjoy. GO SOX!!!

I don't think we overpaid for him.. consering he turned down more $$$ to go
elswhere.
Because he commited to Kenny and the White Sox first. He's got integrity and not
just going
for the big payday... unlike a former White Sox player whose injured and not
playing at all.

at first I felt like KW overpaid him, but I try to leave the $$$ to the
professionals. It's taken me a while to form an opionion of him, but my
take is this: if he's wearing the Sox logo, I root for him!

well, any one who knows me, knows that Harold is my all-time
favorite player. I liked the name because the K9 is so white, like
our beloved Sox. Urlacher was a masculine name that implied strength
and power... which I'm sure will fit this dog rather well. Also,
both my sons were named after Bears (Kodiak and Payton). Shadow? I'd
prefer Kasper... which judging by my kids has stuck with them.
Perhaps they'll let me "paint" a #3 on his side before I deploy, but
I won't count on that... LOL
Go Sox, Go!

How important is the aquisistion of Jermaine Dye? No one has really
talked about it but Jermaine is 2nd on the team in homers and is quietly
putting together a Magglio-type season. I have always liked to solid
hitting and defense Dye has brought to the game. I think besides
Hermanson, Dye is the best aquisition of the offseason for the Sox.

do not look forward to the Twins to lay down dead and hand us the
pennant. They will continue to play quality ball. ChiSox will just have
to play better! Besides, I'd rather play them in the playoffs before
playing a AL West team like ANA or TEX. Besides, I believe MIN have
circled every game against us for the remainder of the season... I
expect playoff atmosphere!
As for ESPN? I agree, they "EAT IT" They fall in the same category as

Big Hurt isn't leaving the Sox organization. He will retire in a Sox
uniform. I thought we would have traded him a few years ago, but
I'll be glad to see them retire his number as well. As for Crede?
Not holding Ventura's jock? Somebody's a bit frustrated, but save it
for another time... we're winning, not whining! I'll take his glove
and slump over bringing some one new. Just when fans begin to lose
patience with our players, they bounce back and step in with a key
at bat. Team chemistry has gotten us this far this season, so
there's no need to disrupt it now. Last year I was screaming for
another #2 starting pitcher while most were looking for another #
5... winning quality ball games seems to have a theraputic effect in
the dugout. I admit that I've commented on Neal be a AAA pitcher,
but he's really been an asset when we needed him. Do NOT look for
Shingo to regain his 2004 composure... Ozzy will find creative ways
to maximize his outings and limit his exposure to teams (so I'll
just have to forgive him when he gives up 3-4 runs again).

I think you would find more than a few takers for the Big Hurt. But the Sox would be unwise in dealing him. Give him some time, he will pay off as he always does.

Unfortunately, it's the last year for both before FA next year. It's definitely hurting White Sox, though we seem to be winning a lot of 1-run games... lots due to pitching.
As for Beltre (which I just dropped off my Fantasy League), I now think last year (.238 ERA, 40 HR, 104 RBI) was a fluke and he's hitting like 2003 (.240 ERA, 23 HR, 80 RBI). Lots of hitters are struggling, like Huff, Hafner, etc. Wonder if this is some fallout from steroids?
And I agree with your assessment of the need for some power from our 3B. Just waiting and watching Crede over the years has gotten me (and I'm sure others) a little frustrated. And if all we've got is Fields for next
year, then we gots problems and need to get a proven 3B for at least 2 years until Fields is ready. Whom (without overpaying) is the question.

Now that deal might actually make some sense for the Royals, some young talent without too high of a price tag. But Sweeney does not play third and I don't think Konerko should play third either.

I know the Twins are only 4 games behind... but ESPN is predicting Twins will be
on top of AL
Central by July 4th. Seems like both our teams schedules are almost equal in
quality of teams
we play. All I have to say is... I hope the White Sox can try and gain some
ground this month
on Twinkies, so that ESPN can "eat it!" I hate that Twins are creeping so close.
GO SOX!!!!
I do agree that Crede needs to hit the ball better. But, he does do a good job on third. Nobody can compare to Robin Ventura. We do need more constency. I'm tired of wondering if there going to hit the ball when there up to bat. Hey! Were still winning though! Even though I'm on the edge of my seat every game. I do think Frank Thomas is a waste though. We definately need to get rid of him! But, no one will take him lol!

I don't think anyone will argue that Joe is the best third baseman in Sox history but he is a pretty good defensive third baseman. He is in a slump now but that is all it is...a slump. He will get better. Three weeks ago he was batting .294 and hit over .300 in April. Paulie has also been in a slump so should we get rid of him too?
At least the Sox aren't paying Joe a lot of money either unlike two others with very similar stats as Joe's in Adrian Beltre, Mike Lowell and Eric Chavez. Just think how frustrated their fans must be knowing the millions of dollars they are paying to these players who are supposed to be All-Stars. The Indians have the worst 3B in Casey Blake and Aaron Boone.
No matter what happens with Joe, this will undoubtedly be Joe's last year as a White Sox. After all his agent is Scott Boras and we all know what happens when his players become free agents. Maybe he can make the Indians pay Crede 10 million per year...who knows.
I'm not sure who will be the Sox third baseman next year. It would be nice to get some power from that position. I was hoping they would sign Glaus in the offseason but no way could they have afforded that guy. I mean if the Angels can't afford him that is saying something LOL. I think a 3B should be able to hit at least 25 homers and drive in 80 runs every season while hitting at least .270.
I don't think Josh Fields is ready yet. He still needs one or two more seasons (in addition to this season) in the minors. We so don't want to bring him up too early and create another Borchard. Right now Josh Fields is batting a whopping .213 with 4 homers and 28 RBIs. He is second in the league in strikeouts though with 60 in 178 at bats. Josh obviously has a lot to learn yet. Hopefully he will!
I'M TIRED OF JOE CREDE!!!! He was supposed to be the second coming of Ventura... BUT he can't even carry Ventura's jock! How many times must we suffer him popping up with runners in scoring position! He had a good April, but has resorted to the Crede of old. I know we need a glove at 3rd (he's not a gold glover but good)... but he was supposed to be this good hitter. We need that because our 3-5 guys are slumping.
I would like to see him traded or sent down or something? Wonder how Josh Field's is doing in minors? Can we trade for Vinney Castilla? Ugh... he's just so frustrating!!!

Do you have a pic of the dog? I have a pitbull named Sarge and it is so fitting. Our last dog was Raven, she was black with a white chest. I don't like those "common" dog names. Usually you can look at a dog and see what name will or will not fit them.
Baines is a ok name I guess. Depends on what you like. Just off the top of my head for a white dog, I think Shadow. Is he all white? If he were to have spots I would think of Oreo. I will think of more later.

Actually Frank's replacement, Timo Perez, was the hero today. Frank strained his hip flexor I think it was. I'm not sure how long he will be out for now. Great game today even though Marte really shouldn't be used as a closer. GO SOX!

Sorry to hear about your bowling mate. It's always hard to lose someone you knew. I didn't get a chance to see the whole game because I was working but I was disappointed in the way the Sox played. BTW...............My very first White Sox game was also against Texas but it was here. It was in 1976 and the Sox lost 6-5 in 16 innings. Back then, they had a 1am curfew(don't know if they still have that curfew) and the game ended at 12:55am. I still have the program for that game somewhere.

I fell asleep (exhausted from the day) and wake up to see the score at 6-1 I missed Paulie's homer :-{ So we watched the rest of the game and now I am here online and ready to do my husbands uniform (he has to attend the parade tomorrow morning downtown). He is in the military. So the kids and I are going to find it and watch it on TV. But anyways, it was disappointing to see how badly they played tonight. I sure hope they catch some spark and turn it around tomorrow.
I want them to kick Texas' butt. My first official SOX game I went to was in Texas against the Rangers back in 1987 or 1988.

This is very true. I am not worried about the Twins. I fully expect
them to be there every step of the way. They have a great manager and
obviously know how to win at least the AL Central division. It will
all come down to the head to head games we play against them.
Obviously the team that is not only better but wants it more will win
those games. The Sox should be both of those as they haven't won
since 2000 and only a few players from that season are still on the
team.
I do hope the offense picks up however. Jose should have won that
game the other day against the Angels. I think things will change
once Frank is inserted into the lineup. Sure Carl Everett has done a
great job and has had some clutch hits for us but pitchers tend to
think a little differently when a future Hall of Famer closing in on
500 home runs is standing in the batters box. Perhaps they could put
Carl in right field and use Dye off the bench? I don't know. Ozzie
will figure it out. Hopefully.
