Call me a pessamist, but I really don't see much for our team. We lost
good pitchers and replaced them with offense and our weakness on 07 was
pitching. Unless we get the Mets to give up Santana cheep, I doubt
we'll do much... we don't have much in the way of pitching, and all the
bats in the world won't fix that.

AL East: Boston, NY Yankees, Toronto, Baltimore, Tampa Bay.
AL Central: Detriot, Cleveland, Minnesota, Chicago White Sox, Kansas
City
AL West: Oakland, Anahiem, Texas, Seattle

AL Wild Card: NY Yankees

NL East: NY Mets, Philedelphia, Atlanta, Florida, Washington
NL Central: St. Louis, Milwaulkie, Houstan, Chicago Cubs, Cincinati,
Pittsburgh
NL West: San Diego, Colorado, Arizona, San Fransisco

NL Wild Card: Philedelphia

World Series: Red Sox over Mets in 7

Hopefully I'm proven wrong, but in my mind, the White Sox enter 08 with
far more questions then potential.

Sabathia owns us.  I'll take a loss if our players realize he can be hit on.  I was glad we got to him and gave him at least a no decision.  He was already 14-3 against us.  Now that we know we can hit him, let's start working on that 3 losses and raise that number throughout the year.  I'm not worried about 1 loss.  I'm worried some about our pitching, but after last year, it was very nice to at least see the Sox make an effort and coming back and getting some runs when they were down.

Well, looks like we have a pretty good offense.
Nice comeback by the Palehose.  Based on this game.....things could get exciting on the South-Side this summer......as long as Ozzie doesn't blow it with his non-moves handling the pitching staff.

Dotel stunk up the place......no MLB GM wanted to sign this guy.......oh wait....KW did.
Ozzie should have pulled him after the 2nd out......Dotel gave up 3 hits and 2 walks....in one inning.  Ozzie gave the Indians the game by leaving Dotel in.

They again.....what the hell is Ozzie doing leaving his starting pitcher in the game to give up 7 runs?  Same ol shit from Ozzie.
Ozzie should have pulled melon-throwing Buerhle after the back to back HR's. It was cold windy, blustery and melon-throwing Buerhle was getting tagged out there.
But no, Ozzie leaves him in to give up 2 more runs.  Ozzie's biggest flaw is managing his pitching staff.

You should NEVER leave in your starter in a game after he gives up 5 runs,......but Ozzie gets brain dead in those situations.
Get yer head on straight Ozzie!
The managing NEEDS to get better....fast!

Kudos to the South-Siders for the gallant comeback.

Nicely said!

Agreed on all counts for sure...

One thing I felt (and I was only able to watch the last couple of innings)....there was an electricity in the air I have not felt in a long time....a very good feeling for sure.

Farmio said it several times....these guys have heart and will play to the end....

Yes the first game was a downer but there are still 161 more to go.

I don't know about Swish leading off.  We need a guy who can get on base and steal bases in that spot, not a guy who is basically a power hitter.  I see that Pods is doing very well in Colorado.  I hope he has a good season as does Aaron in SF.

I hope not.  Many Cubs fans are mean enough as it is.  If something like that were to happen then there would be riots with Cubs fans burning down U.S. Cellular and maybe the entire South Side if they could.

It should be an interesting season!  Detroit looks really good and I know Cleveland will be tough too.  The Sox have to come out strong and do well in their series and especially so with these two teams.  The Twins will be lucky to finish ahead of the Royals so we shouldn't have to worry about them this season.

Go Sox!  Go Buehrle!!

Sure would be great to have them get to the World Series only to have
them find their worst nightmare, THE WHITE SOX, waiting for them
there!!!

Poor Josh!  If any young player deserves to be in the Major Leagues it is him.

Mark Prior's annual rites of spring:

PEORIA, Ariz. -- When the Padres placed right-hander Mark Prior on the 60-day disabled list on Wednesday, it wasn't by any means an admission that his recovery from shoulder surgery had hit a roadblock.
If anything, Prior took a leap forward in his recovery, throwing 25 pitches off a mound to live hitters for the first time since he had arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder 11 months ago.
"I thought he looked good. He threw free and easy; his delivery looked good; the ball was coming out of his hand great," Padres manager Bud Black said. "It was very encouraging. It was another step in the progression, and he's answered them all."

San Diego says that Mark Prior had a 'very good' spring'......yep, I guess for Mark it's one giant step for a guy with a mental block the size of the Grand Canyon.

Guess Mark has to go thru his typical, 'I can't pitch until summer headcase routine.'

11 months ago!!  Minor surgery......poor poor pitiful Prior.  Pitchers who have had Tommy John surgery have come back sooner that that.

Another pitcher that Trusty Dusty 'Jive' Baker played a role in ruining a young pitchers career.

Now the career killer is in Cinn.

Crede took a shot off his wrist in the field, then fouled a pitch off his foot today.  When he left the game, he was limping noticeabley and a trainer was right behind him.  But Harrelson or Jackson ever gave a report.
