The heat is the same here and there, only a couple degrees difference which no human being could tell the difference.  Try going to Mississippi when it's 110 and 100% humidity with mosquitos as big as birds there lol.  This heat is nothing compared to that!

**That maybe true, but someone had to construct the frame work for
the whole deal and that was MLB. Age old teams with only 5
possibilities- just stupid. But we should vote for Shoeless Joe
just because the opportunity to things like this don't happen too
often.

Each team had a fan vote. That fan vote determined the finalists.
It wasn't MLB, it was fans like us.

**True enough, but it's such a nice opportunity to rub the noses of
the mopes that run the game in their own stupidity. That's why we
should write in for Shoeless Joe. And it shows the power of the Sox
fan as a voting block- again.
.
It's really stupid to have only 5 choices for those teams that have
been around a long time. Left off the Yankee list are, among
others, Bill Dickey, Whitey Ford, Earle Combs, Tony Lazzarri, Phil
Rizzuto, Waite Hoyt, Thurmun Munson, Reggie Jackson, Don Mattingly,
Roger Maris, Lefty Gomez, Righty Zemog and, of course, Tanyon
Sturtze. Most of those listed are Hall of Famers. The Capitals
list, however, does include Brian Schneider. Go figure. I hope, at
the very least, the Reds fans chose Pete Rose as their top player.

I vote for...NOBODY!!!  I think this vote is silly and is really just an advertisement for DHL and nothing more.  So many good players are left off the list which makes the final whatever team this is supposed to be completely meaningless no matter who wins.  Ironically they include Pete Rose on the list and he was banned from baseball.  He can't be banned if he's on this list as this is an officially sanctioned contest from Major League Baseball.  What gives with that?  The team that got the most screwed on this list is the Angels with the Rangers a close second.  No A-Rod on the list for either the Mariners or Rangers which is quite unbelieveable.  There is no Curt Schilling either and all he did is help win 2 World Series with the Diamondbacks and Red Sox.

People were saying the Sox would be broken up after Magglio left too.  Obviously that would have been a bad move lol.  Reinsdorf won't do this for the simple reason that it would kill the franchise's value which has skyrocketed since they won last year.  Why would he raise the payroll so high to win again?  It's because he wants to win.  Just look at what happened to the Marlins who won two WS in 8 years.  They broke up the team and now nobody goes to the games or cares about that franchise.  It's pretty much the same with the Diamondbacks too.

I read that book about Tony LaRussa and I really respect him as a manager.  He said in there that it makes him very uncomfortable when someone throws at his players.  I don't think LaRussa usually does it first either.  That book is really good, its called Three Nights in August and it has some talk of when LaRussa was with the White Sox.  Anyways I think the beanball game is a part of baseball and there really isn't a problem unless pitchers start throwing at heads.

La Russa is one of those managers who would never admit hitting the other team's batters.  Usually Tony does it first anyway which makes him one of the biggest jerks in the game.  Selig should ban guys like La Russa and Showalter from the game which would basically put an end to all this beanball crap.  It's funny how the national media always focuses on Ozzie's problems when it's Tony who is the one falling flat on his face right now.  The Cardinals will be lucky to finish 3rd the way they are playing.  The Sox meanwhile have seemingly turned it around and are back in first in the Wildcard race and lead the Twins by 2 games for 2nd in the Central.  So much for the Tigers slumping lol.

**I just voted 10 times for Joe. It's easy. Just go to MLB.com,
click on the home town heros button, register once, hit submit, go to
the bottom of the teams page where it says "write in", write in Joe
jackson and click on the teams button and pick chicago white sox.
Then hit submit. From then on you can keep voting without re-
registering by hitting the vota again button.
.
I think it would be great if we Sox fans snubbed our noses at the
stiffed shirts who run MLB and picked Shoeless Joe. We've shown what
we can do with write in candidates before, let's do it again! Why
Joe, Eddie Collins and Carlton Fisk were left off our ballot I don't
know.
