Everyone said it was not done on purpose and it was a change up, I
just found it coincidental that it was to AJ. I mean any other
person it would not necesarrily make me think twice, but AJ....come
on!!

it was after the game. not sure if they'll show it after the rebroadcast.   after the interview, the hosts chatted about the way he was so evasive about all of it.

Steven, was the interview on CSN during the batting practice or the pregame show?
I taped the entire batting practice and the whole game just in case anything happened.
Thanks, Marilyn

I was listening to the game and Ed & Chris didn't get excited about it. Ed never said that anyone got warned. I heard it was a change-up and that's not what pitchers throw when they want to hit a batter. That could also be as Joan said "(I'm guessing it is usually intentional with a *hint* of innocence?)". What better way to make it look like an accident than to throw a change-up?

The atmosphere at today's game seemed calm, almost boring, I didn't
notice any supercharged-ness like the May series (IMHO, that was
fun!). The media hype is always ridiculous, calling this "Round 2"
and the Redeye had the famous photo from May of Barrett & Pierzynski
squaring off at home plate. Wishful thinking on the media's part?

I didn't see when AJ got hit---did it look innocent or intentional?
(I'm guessing it is usually intentional with a *hint* of innocence?)
AJ has a bullseye on his forehead and I'll bet he will get hit again
before this series is over.

The only thing I heard about Ozuna was Ozzie didn't like the way he
was running to 3rd base, they said Ozuna's leg was heavily taped up,
he has an injury, sorry, I don't know what's injured.

SOX WIN! That's all that matters!

I see where you all are coming from but I don't think that is going to
happen. Most likely Rivera will be voted in by the players and if he's
not then Ozzie has already said he will take him along with Jenks and
Papelbon. It's rare that middle relievers or set-up pitchers go to the
All-Star Game no matter how good their stats are.

We're talking about the greatest closer of all time. He'd be crazy NOT
to take him.

Yes, let's hope so!  They have to beat Detroit at least once now and the Sox have to win the series against the Cubs.  I think the Pirates have a better team than the Cubs so I do like our chances.

I'm hoping that the Pirates had their spark ignited with their win yesterday so they can win a couple against the Tigers this weekend.

With the up coming all-star game in two weeks, I just wanted to ask
a question of intelligent baseball fans. Since the Mgrs of the
World Series participants manage the All-Star teams the following
year, I have a question. Do you think the Mgr has an obligation to
take the players who are playing the best so far in 06? Or should a
manager lean toward his own players who got him to the World Series
the year before. Now, we all know that there needs to be a player
representing each team. But then it's basically up to the Mgrs. I
would argue that based on performance this year and last, that Jenks
of my White Sox and Papleban of the Red Sox are hands down All-Star
selections. As for other relievers, I would further argue that Neal
Cotts deserves to go to be an All-Star more than Mariano Rivera does
in 06.  I offer two reasons;

1. Because of the media power of the Yankees, they will be well
represented with the voting public. I think that taking more
Yankees is an insult to other teams.

2. Neal Cotts was recognized as the "reliever of the year" in 05.
He currently has an era of 3.07 whch is certainly respectable given
that fact that he is pitching against what is now recognized as the
best division in baseball hands down.

So I say take Cotts over Rivera as a relier in 06. What do you
think?

I know that Comcast Sportsnet did it when the series was at Sox Park and it has proven to be popular so I assume WGN is following the lead.....
