the MC and WC Scrambles to be held on Sunday 4/19/09 at West Newton Armory.

NERVA/Yankee members,

We (Yankee Grassroots) are running one last Scrambles for this spring season at
the West Newton Armory on Sunday 4/19/09.
- Men's C (5 teams max)
- Women's C (5 teams max)
- RCO C (5 teams max)

We need at least 3 teams (18 players) to run each tournament. If we don't get 18
players (3 teams) sign-up for an individual scramble
tournament by Monday April 13th, that individual tournament would be cancelled.
Individuals would be asked if they want to shift to another tournament if space
is available.

Please make my life as Scrambles TD easier than it has in the past by signing up

Yankee Volleyball Scrambles are a great way to participate in a Yankee Volleyball tournament.

Yankee Volleyball Association is hosting two Yankee Scrambles of this spring season:
Saturday 2/28/2009 at CTSC MC, WC, and possible RCO-C.
Sunday 4/19/2009 at WNA MC, WC, and possible RCO-C.

These are three court facility so we will try to have:
5 team Mens C level
5 team Womens C level
5 team RCO C level (Reverse Co-Ed on women's net height)

This is subject to change based on the number of registrations.

BE ONTIME as we are checking-in 60 individual players rather than just 10 team captains. EVERYONE MUST SHOW UP BY 8:20am to register, pick up jerseys, and signup for NERVA membership if you are new. At 8:50am, we will release your reservation for any wait-listed/standby players unless you notify us ahead of time. Final team rosters will be made available at that time.

Tournament Format:
The format for scramble tournaments is similar to traditional tournaments with an approximate 9:10 a.m. start time, pool play and playoffs. Two teams play while a third team works. The work team is required to supply two line judges, a R2 down referee, a scorekeeper, and an assistant scorekeeper.

5-team format:
Pool Play is a round robin consisting of two 21 point games. (8 games total)
Top Three teams break pool to play in the playoffs (Semis / Finals)
(best 2 out of 3)

Signup Details:
$25/person
Sign up as an individual

Non-Yankee member special: The $25 will cover both the tournament cost and your 1 day membership fee (usually $15)

To join Yankee, a full year membership costs $35/40 year (sept08 - aug09). The membership covers
insurance and is required for all players that compete in Yankee tournaments during the year. Register your Yankee membership online costs $35 at http://mysite.verizon.net/judyvb/application.html
Otherwise, onsite registration is $40.

Referral credit: if you bring a new member to a scramble, you will receive $10 off per new person (not on 5-year membership list). You can bring up to 2 new players and get a $20 credit and play for free that day.

Make sure that you list the new players who you are bringing to a scramble when you register.

Paypal payment/registration option for Scrambles is $26 (due to Paypal service charge of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction; Yankee get $24.95)

Cancellation Policy:

You have until Wednesday of the week before the Scramble to cancel and get full refund unless you can find a replacement player to take your place. Otherwise $25 is still due to Yankee Scrambles tournament.

For Saturday 2/28/09 scramble, you must notify me by Wednesday 2/25/09
For Sunday 4/19/09 scramble, you must notify me by Wednesday 4/15/09
