Last two Yankee Scrambles Sunday 3/9 and Sunday 4/13 for this season

Yankee Volleyball Association is hosting the next Yankee Scrambles on Sunday
3/9 at Regis College (Weston, MA). The decision to run/cancel the tournament
is Monday March 3rd. Failure to get at least 24 players for each MC and WC
will mean cancelation of the tournament.

Currently for the Sunday 3/9 at Regis, we have only 18 male and 21 female
players signed up. We will need at least 6 more men and 3 more women to run
this tournament.

This is a two court facility so we will try to have:
5 team Mens C
5 team Womens C
This is subject to change based on the number of registrations.

Yankee Volleyball Association hosts scramble tournaments for new and
existing members in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and
Rhode Island.

Scramble tournaments are full day events held to help grow Yankee's
memberships and to give new members an opportunity to get a taste of how a
tournament is run and what to expect. This session, Yankee will be holding
scramble tournaments in Massachusetts and Connecticut for both Men and
Women.

We will have two other scrambles in the spring schedule:
9-March Regis College (Weston, MA) (2 courts facility: 5 Team MC and 5 Team
WC)
13-Apr West Newton Armory (Newton, MA) (3 courts facility: 5 Team MC, 5 Team
WC, and 5 Team RCO C BR)

How Yankee Scramble tournaments works?

Players sign up as an individual and are placed on a team with experienced
and new players based on their position and Yankee ranking. The goal is for
6 players per team. All participants will receive a numbered Yankee T-shirt
jersey and a full day of play costs $20/person. All players need to be NERVA
members and you can sign up at the scramble or any other Yankee tournament.
If you don't have a Yankee rating, you can get on the day of the tourney as
well.

EVERYONE MUST SHOW UP BY 8:40am to register, pick up jerseys, and signup for
NERVA membership if you are new. At 8:50am, we will release your reservation
for any wait listed players unless you notify us ahead of time. Final team
rosters will be made available at that time.

Depending on the number of 'new' players signed up, we may have a short 15
minute safety review and work team responsibilities review.

Format:
The format for scramble tournaments is similar to traditional tournaments
with a 9:00 a.m. start time, pool play and playoffs. Two teams play while a
team works. The work team is required to supply two line judges, a R2 down
referee, a scorekeeper, and an assistant scorekeeper.

Signup Details:
$20/person
Sign up as an individual

Non-member special: The $20 will cover both the tournament cost and your 1
day membership fee (usually $15) or you can signup for a full year
membership for $32 year (sept07 - aug08). The membership covers insurance
and is required for all players that compete in Yankee tournaments during
the year.

Referral credit: if you bring a new member to a scramble, you will receive
$10 off per new person (not on 5-year membership list). You can bring up to
2 new players and get a $20 credit and play for free that day.

Make sure that you list the new players who you are bringing to a scramble
when you register.

Signup online and pay via paypal at:

To register by mail, send a check for $20 payable to NERVA to:
