hi, it's Steven, I help Andrew get the WNBR rolling each year with gathering
space, route, and party planning. Things look to be super special this year with
a great new venue options already lined up, but if you know of a space that can
handle 2000 naked people and their bikes, please give us a holler, we need
options!
Maybe you've been off your bike for a while
and are feeling a little rusty this spring?
Here's some reasons to get bikecited,
put your body in motion, and
feel the group ride love.
--------------------------------
Earth Mass (April Chicago Critical Mass)
Friday April 24, 5:30pm

--------------------------------
Our fair city doesn't really offer much greenspace, so we're gonna take a nice
long tour to catch the budding beauty of Union, Garfield, Humboldt, Palmer, and
Lincoln Parks. Let's hope it rains so we can really get our Spring On ;^)
--------------------------------
May Day Mass (Wicker Park Critical Mass)
Friday May 1, 6:00pm
gather at the Polish Triangle and ride to
opening party for West Town Bikes new space
--------------------------------
or bike right to the party to catch the parade at 5pm!!!

Ride of Silence
Wednesday May 20, 6:30pm
gather by the Eternal Flame
in Daley Plaza
--------------------------------
I remember the first World Naked Bike Ride flier I received in 2004, it
mentioned many reasons for joining the naked bike ride, but a line stating that
the naked ride was an expression of the vulnerability cyclists face on the roads
everyday really resonated with me. Very little makes you feel more naked than a
car passing murderously close while your riding, and the Ride of Silence puts us
in touch with the magnitude of our simple decision to bike in a machine age.
Help us quell the noise of industry and indifference by creating a space filled
with human powered silent reverence to honor our cycling brothers and sisters
that have paid the ultimate price on our mean streets.
