Six relay teams from our group participated in the
CIM Relay Challenge down in Sac. this past weekend
and the nice sunny but cold weather conditions made
for a great weekend for both the runners and shoppers.
In the Health Club Female division the team of Lisa O,
Reene, Sue, and Kathy was 23rd overall with their win
in the division in a time of 3:36:14hrs (8:15 min/mile).
The team of Lisa B, Jen M, Jeanne and Mary Ann finished
6th in 4:14:53hrs (9:48), with the team of Nikke, Leslie,
and Darlene in 8th in 4:22:33hrs (10:04).
In the Running Club Female division the team of Gabrielle,
Helen, Anna and Alex finished 5th in 3:44:52hrs (8:37).
The team of Lori Beth, Lorna, Jen H and Joanne was 16th
in 4:09:26hrs (9:37), and the team of Chris, Linda,
Margaret and Rebekah was 37th in 5:24:48hrs (12:26).
Ladies here are the finalized teams (wow what a lot of changes this year)
Team 1 - Leslie, Darlene, Nikki, Noelle
Team 2 - Jenn M, Jeannie O, Mary Ann, Lisa B
Team 3 - Sue, Lisa O, Reene, Kathy
Team 4 - Lorna, Lori Beth, Jen H, Joanne
Team 5 - Helen, Gaby, Alex, Anna
Team 6 - Margaret, Linda, Rebecca, Chris
Remember your race belt, gloves, and warmup clothes, remember breckfast if you
are the first runner, remember to look up when you cross the finish line (not
down at your watch).... OK those are done.....
At this point each team should have contacted all the members of their own team
and started to organize carpooling to Sacramento.
Each team shares one room. The rooms are under my name Leslie Clavey. Each team
pays for the room amongst themselves. The hotel is the Holiday Inn Express
located on J and 16th (728 16th St.). Take the J street exit and drive left or
east when you get to 16th. Go three blocks. The rate is approx $35 per person
with 4 in a room.
Only one team member needs to be present to pick up the packets but you must
know your team name (and it is a good idea to have confirmation paperwork).
Since they run out of T-shirt sizes, the earlier you go to pick up the better
chance of getting something that will fit you. Park your car at the hotel and
walk to the convention center as it is only 4 blocks away.
Dinner is at Paesano's at 6:30. We will meet in the lobby at 6:00 pm and walk
over to the restaurant which is 1806 Capitol. 916-447-8646.
Note that there is only one check and they will automatically add 17% gratuity
(short hand for figuring it out is to add 25% to your meal = 17 + 7 tax). I will
bring a calculator.
Call me if you have any questions - my cell is 530-828-8806.
I am looking forward to our 6th annual CIM and hope you are too!!!!

Hi Everyone!! Yep, it is almost that time of year again - time for the Team
Chico Cutty Series ride! This one is taking place on Saturday, December 5th -
please see e-mail below and the attached PDF file for details. I will be driving
SAG support again this year and we'll hopefully have some food and drinks
available as well. This has always proven to be a fun and challenging ride year
after year - and is quickly becoming a Chico classic!! Hope to see you there!!!
CHICO-OREGON GULCH (gravel)-PARADISE-CHICO ∼ 75 miles
Saturday, December 5th, 2009 9:00 AM One Mile Recreation Area
The classic ride of Table Mountain, Oregon Gulch road and Pentz. From Chico we
roll
past Butte College and hit the foothills up to Cherokee Rd. We climb and descend
Cherokee all the way across Table Mountain before backtracking a mile or so to
the start
of the dirt on Oregon Gulch Rd. This five-mile stretch of good gravel has a few
ups and
downs before a steep kicker up to the first KOM at the Covered Bridge. Descend
back
down Cherokee and head straight up Pentz Rd into Paradise for KOM # 2. Work our
way
through town and descend Neal Rd for a sprint before 99, cross 99, and finish
with a
second sprint on Chico-Oroville HWY.
Notes: These rides are organized for fun(?) and are open to all who are willing
to try.
Some rides utilize out and back portions and regrouping is encouraged! Road
bikes with
sturdy tires should be fine. We will try to have a support vehicle(s) but please
come
prepared, ride with a partner and have a plan to get home. Please dress WARM and
bring
plenty of food, water and supplies and take responsibility for yourselves. We
will
describe the route, but there will be minimal course markings, no road closures,
aid
stations or coffee stops, just dogs, squirrels, pickup trucks, and a bunch of
bikers on a
sweet ride in the cuts! For more info on the Cutty Series or other Chico area
rides contact
Aren at arentimmel@... or (530) 892-9868.

On Sunday, Dec. 27th, if the weather is nice, we carpool
from One Mile at 7:40am to Gray Lodge and ride at 8:30am.
The 3+ hour, flat, 44-mile, clock-wise ride around the
Sutter Buttes will have a store stop half-way through in
the town of Sutter. Shorter, flat, out-back options for
those interested in less milage.
If the weather is crappy the back-up date for the ride is
Sunday, Jan. 10th.
