Nope, they're not the same thing.

The Marmong Point Interclub is on this weekend. Sorry for the late entry but it
was slow
coming to me.

As usual this regatta will be held over both the Saturday and the Sunday. The
guys from
Marmong Sailing Club tell me that the schedule of events is as follows:

Saturday and Sunday
Junior sailing – First race to commence at 10 am
Senior racing – First race to start between 12 noon and 1pm
BBQ after sailing on the Saturday night

There will be divisions for Windsurfer One Design, Raceboard and Formula.
Basically turn
up on what ever you like and have some fun. Hopefully we will get a good bunch
of locals
as well. Sorry but I can't make it as Sunday is the start of the Laser Masters
Worlds.

The club is located at on George Street, Marmong Lake Macquarie.


NATIONAL TITLES

The Nationals are coming up over Easter, at Paynesville on the beautiful
Gippsland Lakes.

NOTICE OF RACE

2007 - 2008
WINDSURFER ONE DESIGN AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

21 March 2008 to 24 March 2008

Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club, Paynesville, Victoria

The Organising Authority is the Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club Inc. (GLYC). This
Championship is sanctioned by Windsurfing Australia.

1. RULES
1.1 The Championships will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing
Rules of
Sailing 2005 – 08 (RRS) excluding rules B3.3 (29.3 (a) and (b), B4, B5 and B6,
the class
rules of the Windsurfer One Design Class, except where these are changed by this
Notice
of Race (NOR) or by the Sailing Instructions (SIs).

2. ADVERTISING
2. 1 The Organising Authority reserves the right to refuse advertising on a
board or by a
competitor where it is not permitted by the laws of the Victorian and/or
Australian
governments.
2.2 Competitors may be required to display or wear Event sponsor's
names(s)/logo(s). If
required, the Organising Authority will supply these items and they shall be
affixed and/or
worn as prescribed in the Sailing Instructions.
2.3 This championship is designated a category C event in accordance with ISAF
Regulation 20 as it applies to sailboards.

3. ELIGIBILITY
3.1 This championship is open to competitors using Windsurfer One Design
sailboards
and equipment complying with class rules.

4. ENTRIES / ENTRY FEE
4.1 All intending competitors shall register at the venue on Friday 21/3/08
between 0900
and 1100 hours.
4.2 Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the race committee.
4.3 The 2008 Australian Windsurfer One Design Championship Entry Fee for all
divisions is
$180.00. The entry fee includes the welcome, cruise and presentation functions
and a
regatta t-shirt.

5. COMPETITION DISCIPLINES
5.1 Competition will be conducted in course racing, slalom, freestyle, marathon,
all
conducted in accordance with class rules, and will include overall pentathlon
results.

6. COMPETITION DIVISIONS
6.1 Competition will be conducted in the following gender, weight and age
divisions:
Men – lightweight, medium weight and heavy weight; Women; Junior.
6.1.1 Male competitors will be weighed at the time of registering. They will be
required to
wear light clothing such as shorts and shirt.
6.1.2 Male competitors will be allocated to divisions of light, medium and heavy
weight,
which will have, as close as possible, equal numbers.
6.1.3 Males competitors shall compete in their allocated weight division.
6.2 Pentathlon scoring will be conducted in the following age divisions:
6.2.1Men - Overall
Junior - not turned 17
as at 21/3/08
Master - 40years and over as at
21/3/08
Grand Master - 50 " " " "
" "
Ancient Mariner - 60 " " " "
" "
Women- Overall
Junior - not turned 17
as at 21/3/08
Master - 40years and over as at
21/3/08

6.2.2 Competitors will be scored in more than one age division if eligible.

7. SCHEDULE
The competition schedule will be in accordance with the following as well as
notices to
competitors. The Championships is an `On Call' Regatta.
7.1 Schedule of Events:

NB: Details of social events, to include a welcome, cruise and presentation will
be advised
in a separate social events notice.

8. EQUIPMENT
8.1 It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that their equipment
conforms to
the current class rules, according to rule 78 and B2.2.
8.2 Downhaul systems which can be adjusted whilst sailing without the need for
the sail to
be in the water shall not be used.
8.3 Outhaul systems which can be adjusted whilst sailing without the need for
the sail to
be in the water shall not be used.





9. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
9.1 sailing instructions will be issued at the time of registering on the
21/3/08.

10. RACING AREA
10.1 Competition will be conducted on the waters of the Gippsland Lakes,
Victoria.

11. COURSES
11.1 The Courses to be sailed will be described in the sailing instructions.

12. SCORING
12.1 The Low Point System, Appendix A shall apply for course racing and
marathon. 12.2
Eight course races are scheduled, of which five must be completed to constitute
a
Championship.
12.3 Slalom, freestyle and pentathlon will be scored in accordance with class
rules. For the
pentathlon scoring, competitor ties in the slalom and freestyle will be scored
in
accordance with rule A7.

13. PRIZES
Trophies will be awarded to the first, second and third placed competitor in
each
competition discipline as relevant.

14. BUOYANCY
With the exception of when competing in the slalom and freestyle disciplines,
all
competitors shall wear personal flotation devices which are in good condition
and are in
accordance with the specifications issued or approved by a national authority or
as
approved by the Organising Authority (changes rules 27.1 and 40.1.) Attention is
drawn to
rule 1.2.

15. ENTRY DISCLAIMER
It is the competitor's sole decision to enter this Championship and to start and
or to
continue to compete. By way of entering, competitors acknowledge that their
participation
in this Championship can be dangerous and shall accept that their participation
is at their
exclusive risk in every respect. They shall hold harmless the Organising
Authority, its
officers, members, servants and agents and all other competitors in respect of
all liability
for any injury to their person and or loss or damage to their property howsoever
arising
from their participation or intended participation in this Championship and
acknowledge
that the Organising Authority, its officers, members, servants, agents and other
competitors accept no responsibility in respect of loss of life, personal injury
or loss or
damage to property which may result by reason of a competitor's participation or
intended
participation in this Championship or arising for whatever reason in connection
with this
Championship. Attention is drawn to rule 4.

16. INSURANCE
16.1 Every competitor shall have public liability insurance considered
appropriate by the
Organising Authority for not less than $10m for any one incident.
16.2 Every competitor who signs the Entry Form and enters is deemed to have made
a
decision that they have such insurance. Competitors found not to have such
insurance
shall have their entry revoked.



17. VENUE FACILITIES
17.1 Lock up equipment storage is available for use at competitors' risk.
17.2 Grass and sand rigging areas and easy launching are available adjacent to
the GLYC.
17.3 GLYC has limited bar and snack facilities.
17.4 GLYC is located right within the township of Paynesville and its amenities.

18. ACCOMMODATION
18.1 Some accommodation is still available in the Paynesville area.
