Sunday 16 December
Hi Windsurfers,
Message to say - as of this evening - it's official!
Vic windsurfers pleased to confirm Nationals at Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club,
Easter 2008 - Friday 21/3, Sat 22/3, Sun 23/3, Mon 24/3.
Some details still to be finalised, but can tell you the following:
*some racing conducted as part of GLYC Easter regatta;
*marathon on Sunday 25/3, 2pm start, 'Round Raymond Island';
*all divisions in event, including juniors and youth;
*Welcome party;
*Cruise;
*Presentation Monday afternoon / late afternoon, depending on program;
*entry fee around $160 - $175, due to YC costs.;
*Notice of race will be sent asap, but probably not till January - apologies.
Accommodation - no set venues suggested yet, unfortunately, unlike at B Bay, however suggest booking for Paynesville or Raymond Island. There is a ferry between Paynesville and Raymond Island - check times if needed. The yacht club is right in Paynesville itself. Suggest avoid booking Metung, another big town on the Lakes, if you can help it, very long way to drive or sail to the venue.
Some accommodation available on boats. Eg 'Bull's Cruisers' are pretty good.
Main convenor is Tim Forster, t_e_forster@... , ph 03 9589 5297.
Please contact him with any queries.
Thanks to Mark Lloyd for all of his work to get it to this point, but he's got to help with the Minnow nationals or something now, so he's handed over to Tim.
Hope to see you there next Easter!
Merry Christmas, Kerry.
(On behalf of the Vic windsurfers.)
