NOTICE OF RACE
2005-2006 Windsurfer One Design class NSW Travellers Trophy Series
The 2005-2006 Windsurfer One Design class Travellers Trophy Series will be held from December 10th to March 19th.
1. Organising Authority
The races will be organized by the NSW Boardsailing Association Inc.
2. Venue
Competition will take place at the following venues;
Rd 1, December 10 Dobroyd Aquatic Club, Rodd Point.
Rd 2, December 11 Dobroyd Aquatic Club, Rodd Point.
Rd 3, February 4
Rd 4, March 18/19
4. Rules
The races will be governed by:-
(a) the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing for 2005-2008.
(b) The WCA class rules
(c) This notice of race
(d) The sailing instructions
Advertising shall only be displayed in accordance with Category C, ISAF Advertising Code.
5. Eligibility to Enter
The races are open to financial members of Clubs or Associations affiliated with the NSW Boardsailing Association Inc.
6. Competition Disciplines
It is intended that competition will be conducted in course racing, slalom, freestyle, marathon and pentathlon all in accordance with class rules. It is intended that course racing shall be conducted at all events; that freestyle and/or slalom shall be conducted if possible during Rds 1,2,3, and 5; and the marathon shall be conducted during Rd 5.
Men's Weight Divisions (number and break points), women's division, age divisions - to be determined on December 10 in accordance with entries.
It is intended that short-course and silver fleet divisions shall be conducted to cater for less experienced entrants if possible. Selection of sailors into the silver fleet and short-course divisions will be at the discretion of the class captain and club officials. Silver fleet division shall start with the main fleet but normally sail a shorter course. Short-course and junior divisions may use smaller sails.
7. Equipment
It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that their board and equipment conforms to the current class rules in accordance with Rule 78. Downhaul and outhaul systems which can be adjusted while sailing without the need for the sail to be in the water shall not be used. Small sails need not conform to class rules.
9. Buoyancy
Buoyancy vests conforming with AS 1499 or approved by the race committee shall be worn as intended while racing with the exception of slalom and freestyle disciplines. Please note that the rules and officers of individual clubs may require buoyancy to be worn during the slalom discipline.
10. Liability
It is the competitor's sole decision to enter this event and to start and or to continue to compete. By way or entering, competitors acknowledge that participation in this event can be dangerous and accept that their participation is at their exclusive risk in every respect. In addition, by way of entering competitors shall hold harmless the organizing authority, its officers, members, servants and agents and all other competitors in respect of any and all liability for injury to themselves and or damage to their property howsoever arising from their participation or intended participation in this event.
11. Scoring
The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A of the RRS shall apply for course racing and marathon. Slalom, freestyle and pentathlon will be scored in accordance with class rules. For the pentathlon scoring, competitor ties in the slalom and freestyle will be scored in accordance with RRS Appendix A7. A separate pointscore will apply for the short course fleet.
