hey chris,
what about tips for lonely girls (!) who need to be able to store, carry and
put their boards on their cars by themselves. Eg. the old 'levering onto
your head' technique, and tips for using pulleys to store gear on roofs of
garages etc. which are a great help. lets face it, if you can't get your
gear onto the water by yourself you're prob not going to get out very often.
also, what abut a database of contacts who may be interested in cruising,
sorted geographicaly. i have four or five people that i can call and invite
on a coast run if the mood takes me.
alsoi agree def need for tips on shore landings - vital if you find yourself
in an emergency. especially advice for landing on a surf beach by swimming
in for those who are not confident enough to sail in.
Ferry right-of-way rules and shipping lane info for harbour also a must.
Plus how to help any well-meaning boaties who may want to rescue you but
don't know how to manage a board. of course the international arm-waving
distress signal too.
