The Australian group for sailors of the Windsurfer One Design - the original windsurfer and still one of the strongest classes in Australia. It's tough, it's cheap, it can be sailed in anything from gales to calms, and it's one design. It's suitable for everything from laid-back no hassle cruising, to racing against Olympians.

The main Windsurfer One Design fleets are found in NSW (with fleet at Cronulla, Dobroyd and Narrabeen), Victoria and Tasmania, but there are also One Design sailors in Darwin, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

Because the One Design is tough, cheap and perfect for simple fun, it's an ideal board for kids. The Windsurfer Junior class uses modern 3.5m and 4.5m sails from Barracouta Sails to make kid's sailing fun and easy.

The next national titles are at Gippsland Lakes in Victoria over Easter 2008. As always, it will be an all-round test of windsurfing with course racing, slalom, freestyle and marathon events, but we also plan divisions for Juniors and less experienced or more laid-back "silver fleet" sailors.
