I dropped off the money and food to the Commission on Economic
Opportunity of Wilkes-Barre this morning and they had a big scale there
to weigh the food what we gave them.
The official food weigh-in was 144-pounds.
Plus the $800 cash donation.
A very hearty contribution from everyone involved at the Hickory Run
Ice Bowl...this was easily our biggest ice bowl and largest charitable
contribution yet!!!
Dave Ritter of CEO was thrilled to death and very humbled that we chose
their charity. Thanks again to all who contributed.
Mike Solt and I send our sincere thanks to everyone who helped out.

An exciting fund-raising opportunity will be held at the Hickory Run
Ice Bowl February 7 in an effort to gain additional cash for Ending
Childhood Hunger. This will be held as our between rounds CTB contest.
Through Disc Golf U, the Official Online Hancapping service for Disc
Golf, we have purchased at a huge discount rate of $40.00, an Innova
DISCatcher Traveler portable basket. This target sells at a retail
price for about $129.00. In exchange for this basket, Disc Golf U has
asked us to hand out literature at registration about them and what
they do.
What we will do is hold our normal CTB contest but the basket will be
the prize people will play for. Cost will be $1.00 per throw and you
can throw as many as you want. Every penny raised through this
contest will go to Ending Childhood Hunger. In the name of charity,
bring some extra bucks and take part. An exciting fund-raising

The Wind Wizards welcome Anthony, our newest 3 round plus handicaped
Wind Wizard & tag holder! Nice 2nd round, you'll be bringing that
average down in no time.
Mostly cloudy and calm 5*-18* "burr"
4" of crunchy disc sliding snow/but sweet dry tee pads
Nice round Casey, it was great to see you again.
Just an FYI to all the Baggers in the house.....
Divisions to be offered for the HRIB will be Open, Advanced, and
Intermediate.
Anyone entering the Chili / Soup Cookoff Challenge?
We will provide a generator, cups, spoons etc. Food in a crock pot
probably works best but a portable electric burner will work too since
we will provide the power.
By the way, come check out our new home page at www.bearclaws.org
The inside pages are the same but the home page is a major
upgrade...kudos to Mike Solt.
And Congrats to Skip and his fine swimmers on the newborn!!!
Hi everyone. Don't forget, if the gate is locked, you can still play.
You just have to walk in. It can be a good warm up stretch or can be
a nice old school object game to get to hole #1.
Most of the ice is off the tee pads(for now), except for #15. It's
about an inch thick on the rear of the pad. We are going to have to
do something about the water accumulating on this pad. Maybe this
should be our elevated tee? Either a ditchwitch & drainage pipe or
redo the pad higher off the ground. Any suggestions? Think about it
and discuss it with other members, and let's see what we can do.
Number 11 & 12 tee's also have minor water issues in wet weather.
Somehow, they are a little lower than we would like.
When the Ice Bowl comes around and there is still snow, we will have
to get someone to plow the driveway and parking lot. So, in the
meantime, let's keep our ears open for someone with a snow plow to
donate a plow job for a great cause.(at least a discounted rate)
Let's get everyone's friends and family out to the Ice Bowl! In other
words, keep spreading the word.
What a great way to get people out to play DG and help out a great
charity! Nice prizes, low key event, wide open spaces, come on, yea
hah! Maybe your place of work would like to donate $ or food/sponsor
a hole, and have their name mentioned at the player's meeting, maybe
even mentioned in the local paper if we get coverage again this year.
I have more flyers if anyone can think of a place to post them.
If you like the new look of the front page, thank Jay when you see
him, Larry
Lime Bluff Wind Wizard's IB 2009 will offer Pro,Am,Int,W, & Jr.
divisions.
CTP's for each division.
Ring of Ice included.
There will be nice prizes and a few suprises. Everyone will have a
chance to win something. Of course, if you come and donate, you are
already a winner!!!
Come and support The Son-Light House of Muncy and enjoy the open skies
of Lime Bluff! Memorable Winds, Larry

Are you near Clinton County and could assist in this endeavor?
