YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Wayne Rooney has been voted the world young player of the year by his
peers.

The Manchester United striker collected the FIFPro award at a
ceremony in London attended by many of the world's top players.

Some 38,000 professional footballers voted in a secret ballot to
honour their peers and select a world XI.

They voted Barcelona star Ronaldinho as the top player of 2005.

Rooney failed to make the so-called "dream team" but was singled out
as the best young player.

"It is a great honour to be in the same room as so many great
players, and I would like to thank all the players who voted for me,"
Rooney said.

"It is a great honour to be spotted by your fellow professionals."

Outside of Man Utd fans, Rooney has appalled every footy fan in the country.

However, his departure has left Everton in a better state. Man Utd have already realised that sometimes he doesn't play so well. I hope they will be as forgiving as we were. Lets face it, he played over 30 times for us last season and underperformed in a lot of them.

Cheers you lot,

Dave.

1. Wayne Rooney was on 13k a week at Everton, not 3k. FACT.

2. He was offered 50k a week by Everton, the same as he is on at Man Utd now.

3. Mna Utd the biggest club in the world historically? I think you are very much wrong there mate. Although I hate to admit it, Liverpool are the biggest club in the world historically. FACT.

4. A player of Rooney's standard doesnt come along very often and when it does it's not usually at a team like Everton. So for him to be playing for the team he supported as a kid and to have thousands upon thousands of people adore him is amazing. He could of stayed for a few more years. He's only 18 for fucks sake. He's got years ahead of him. He's a greedy un-loyal twat. FACT.

Mr Rooney is therefore entitled to do what he likes with regards his
profession, in relation to who he plays for.  Just because a number
of Evertonian supporters dispise him of his desire to succeed, he is
lambasted by the supporters for doing what they would do at 18.  If
your getting paid £3K per week and someone offered you better
prospects etc. another £20K per week wouldn't you??  Life is all
about making decisions, which Wayne Rooney has done.  Hes left
Everton in a more sound financial position, and to be fair, David
Moyes hasn't done a bad job to date (Spurs excepted).

Give the lad a chance playing for undoubtedly the biggest club in
the world, historically and financially.  He is facing numerous
challenges head on by doing what he does best - play football.

I bet you cheer him if he scores against Wales (unless your
Welsh)!!  Isn't that double standards.

DO you think the Man U fans will be singing 'There's only one greedy b*stard' like they do to Shearer?

Man Utd have never produced a player like Rooney. Never. Best? They got him from Home Farm.

Ferguson is not a great manager. He is a rich one. Period. Some achievement, huh? How long before Man U and their fans are taking ALL the credit for the way Rooney plays - dismissing totally all the work that Everton did in nurturing him.

I'd rather he'd gone to Chelsea.
