Subject: [WWLL] Restructure Committee Update and Bid to Host WWLL Championships
Dear WWLL Coaches and Team Rep's:
Some progress has been made filling the spots on the Restructure Committee. We have a chair and one additional committee member but we need three more of you to step up. (See past e-mail messages on file in our Yahoo group if you are seeing this information for the first time, this one is dated June 18, 2009). DII coaches and team rep's this is a topic of the utmost interest to you since it may change how many games you're required to play and it might affect your travel and it might affect your post-season format. The remaining three spots on this committee should be filled by at least two DII members so please keep this in mind. We can take one more member from as DI team.
The bid process for a team to host the 2010 WWLL Championships is commencing now. The South Region has priority in the current scheme of rotating regions. Here's some recent history on it.
2006 - Occidental (Central) hosted.
2007 - San Diego State (South) hosted.
2008- Chico State (North) hosted.
2009 - UCSB (Central) hosted.
2010 - South has priority.
This does not mean a team from another region can't put in a bid to host. If nobody from the South bids then best available bid will be presented to the membership for a vote. Your bid is due by September 1st so it can be distributed to the membership for review in advance of the October 3rd Fall Meeting. At the minimum include information about number of fields available, the quality of the fields, your rain plan, hotel block availability/room rate, staffing for score tables, food concessions and the facility for the awards ceremony.
