Are you SURE that Terrible Ted took care of ALL your needs?

Skeptically,

P.S. That 20 inches you saw in the water must have been Yours Truly(!!!)

Ted, Sandy, Garth, Linda, John, Charlie, Kim, Jay, Bret, I'm missing a pair
of mizuno shoes, they are white with a wee bit of orange in them. As you
know, I have a very hard time finding shoes that work for me, so if everyone
would go through their things and double check for them I would greatly
appreciate it. If you find them just bring them to the hash Tuesday at
Crocketts.

I have to say that Square Root gets my vote for funniest during
Saturday night's camp fire! All I can say is, "He must REALLY like

I'd have to say that this was as much fun as I've had on a hash
camping trip. The food was great, plenty to do and a great friends to
do things with!

I'd have to agree with wet stop and everyone that didn't come this
weekend missed out on a great time.

I'd like to thank Ted and I know I heard everyone else mention how
much work he put into this weekend. He had our every need taken care
of and we appreciated it!! I think he spent all day on Friday just
getting everything packed for the weekend. A big THANK YOU goes out
to TED. He was a great host!!!

I was sorry to miss Friday's hash but I was running behind from
working till 1pm, going to a couple stores for supplies and then
packing. I still managed to forget my camera and glasses!! Bummer!
But I know Square Root had his camera going and I think Garth took a
couple of pictures.

The late nighters on Friday night experienced the river in the dark
and found a great rock in a great location. Since I missed my run
Friday night I ran back to the camp from the float and saw three full
moons to help me speed up the hill. What a great site.

It was very relaxing sitting by the fire beside the river watching
everyone kayak. I had my turn after breakfast Sunday morning. I saw a
hugh fish swimming by me! Probably 20" or more.

Saturday night was lots of fun playing card by the fire light until
late in the night. A little dancing to Dave's MP3 player until the
batteries died.

It was a great weekend. Could have used more sun...but at least no
rain. And turn no one ended up with a sunburn but just a little bit
of color.

What a great time and hopefully the pictures will be posted soon.

Hopefully the float will be organinzed soon as that was the best part
of the weekend.

Thanks Ted and thanks to everyone how came and made it a great
weekend!! But I sure am tired!

August is going to be a jam packed hash moth. We've got two big
parties near the beginning of the month with the Ablidso's having
their 2nd Annual gathering. We're also getting ready for Linda's
going away hash. That's right, Linda will be doing a down down on
the 15th because she is leaving us. But on to our weekend recap.

We had a great weekend at Ted's Island. We had such a blast that
everyone can't wait to do it again real soon. Added a few pics from
around the campsite. Sort of forgot the camera the rest of the
weekend since we were having so much fun. Big thanks to Ted for
organizing and getting everything going for this big weekend. It
took a lot of effort and everyone really appreciated it. Also, Sandy
again outdid herself with food. Thanks for everything!
Ted had map's for us as clue's for his hash. Here's the map key of
the whole run:
http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/2406/fridayhashuq9.jpg
Here's Dave's recap of the weekend:
WOW! What a great weekend, for those of you who said you would be
there and didn't come, shame on you! And those of you who just
didn't come, you missed a fantastic weekend. Ted hared a great hash
with about 5 mile hash for those who took the turkey trail to
probably 7 for the eagle trail with lots of trails and "MUD." After
hash dinner at "Ted's bar and Grille" we had all the burgers and
dogs we wanted with the traditional after hash beverages. Early
Saturday morning, (I think around 5:30 am) we were awakened by Ted
getting up and starting to fix us breakfast but nobody fell for
that, most of us were up by 8. Ted's breakfast was Omelets anyway
you wanted fixed in his cast iron skillet. After breakfast we got
into the inner tubes and did a river float downstream to Colfax with
some unusual sites along the way. Stopped by an ex-hashers house,
got a kayak and emptied out his refridge of all the ice cold
beverages sense he wasn't home, maybe he'll never know. The perfect
day for a river float, no sunshine but still very hot as I don't
think anyone got sunburn. Got back to the campsite and afterwards
Sandy fixed us such a great dinner., barbeque chicken, salad, baked
potatoes, baked beans and fried rice, WOW was that great! After
dinner everyone was taking turns in the kayak paddling upstream,
I'll almost bet Jay and Ted will both have a kayak next year, they
loved it so much. After the fireworks display that Ted missed (he
went to bed early) it was off to bed. Sunday was another day of
Ted's cooking with eggs any way you wanted them. Then a couple of us
went on another river float to return the kayak to its rightful
owner and we then headed home. I think there might be another river
float in the plans soon for only a one day thing, maybe start from
the same place and floating all day, maybe to Benton's Ferry. that
would probably be about 6 hour float. let Jay know of a date to have
this adventure. This was a weekend to remember! This is my version
of the weekend hope someone else sends theirs in too. Wet Spot

This Tuesday we'll be hashing from Crocket's where Kim will be
leading us on a journey for the ages. It was her birthday today so
of course we'll have to sing to her and try really hard to catch her
during the chase so that she can get her birthday present.
Crocket's is along the main drag in Star City just down from the
Fire Department. If you're coming from Fairmont take the Star City
exit off of I-79. After you cross the Star City Bridge turn left at
the light. You'll turn right at the stop sign and it's around a mile
on the right. Parking is easiest in the lot across the street.
The car pools continue this week. Our Fairmont one will leave from
the McDonald's on East Side at approximately 5:30.

See you on the trail,

ON – ON!!!!

Ok Guys!! To organized for ya to have a sign up list.

So......lets just say that the main meal for dinner Friday and Saturday
night and breakfast on Sat are covered by Ted and Sandy.

So plan on bringing a side dish. And then bring what ever you want to
eat and bring a little extra. Hows that! It will be pot luck and I'm
sure there will be plenty to eat. It's not like we're miles from
civilation. Hell, Micky D's it about 10 minutes away if need be!!

I think John's taking care of the buns and plates and plastic ware. And
Garth is bringing a couple of side dishes. Other than that.....that's
all I know.

See everyone tomorrow night.

although a little more expensive.....Dicks Sporting goods usually carries river
tubes and sometimes Target does as well, you just need to make sure it is a
heavier grade tube and not for pool use only.

Ok, this weekend is the island adventure. I've put in all the emails
below about the event with directions and everything. Hope to see
you there. Looks like it'll be a decent turnout.
Oh and yes, no BiLo hash this week since we'll be at the Island.

• Ted's email – float
• Brian's email – firewood
• Ted's email – directions and everything
• Sandy's email - food

Ted's email:
Subj: Weekend Riverfloat
I managed to stop at a couple of tire stores and secure 4 working
tubes at a price of $5 each. Someone may wish to hit the local WV
tire stores that service 18 wheelers to see if there are any
available. I saw prices ranging from $15 to $5 and got the limit I
can haul from PA.

Brian's email:
Is anyone bringing firewood this weekend? I can't make it Friday
evening but I'll be there Saturday evening. If no one is bringing
firewood, then I'll bring some down in my truck. I'll also bring a
saw and an axe that we can use to cut up some dead logs near the
camp site.
Brian

Got all this from Ted for this coming weekend:
Ted's Island Adventure Huh? Well I was considering River Hash with
all of the extras such as Irish Step Hashing but I hear that's hard
on the knees. Or we could find Bill for a throwback to the eighties
with "Bill and Ted's Excellent Hash Adventure," What's in a name
anyway. On to the details.
Directions: Take 250 South from the south Fairmont exit 2.4 miles to
Colfax Rd on your left. 0.8 Miles to the bottom of the hill Poplar
Island Rd is gravel to your right. The road is rutted out sop 4WD
and a high profile vehicle are needed to make it to campsite. I
recommend parking at Wal-Mart or elsewhere nearby and Carpooling
down. Follow the signs to the campsite along the river.
Accommodations: This is rustic tent camping at it's finest. No
running water, besides the river. I should have a generator though
if covered dishes need heated. I will be providing Hamburgers and
Hotdogs. Buns condiments and all else need provided. Sandy was
looking into organizing a food list. Thanks Sandy.
Schedule: Friday: The Hashing begins at 6PM as always. We will after-
hash till the wee hours of the morning.
Saturday: AM Breakfast at Campsite. I will provide eggs, Omelets,
Bacon and toast. All other meals are on our own. Anyone is welcome
to start another Hash. Sometime before during or after lunch weather
permitting we can pile into cars to be dropped off up-river for a
float back to the campsite. I will attempt to obtain inner tubes but
recommend you bring your own flotation device. You may wish to
consider bringing snorkel equipment or fishing gear or a mtn bike if
it floats your boat.

And then from Sandy:
Please click on Database and add what you are planning to bring. Make
sure to include your name.

You single guys....someone can bring plastic wear, plates, cups,
paper towels, wet wipes, etc.

Here are some items we all will need:
Large Containers of water
Water for drinking
Matches/lighter fluid
Canopy tent if anyone has one
Lawn chairs
Portable table(s)
Rope for clothes line
Cooking Utensils
Flotation/Rafts for the float
Bug Spray
Suntan Lotion
Citronella Candles
First Aid Kit

Food Items Needed:
Hamburger and Hotdog Buns
Condiments (ketchup, Mustard, relish, hot dog sauce)
Salt and Pepper
Side dishes
Desserts
Snacks
Drinks
Ice
Dinner item (s) for Saturday night
Butter/margarine

I'm sure there is more that I'm leaving off. But that's all I can
think of for right now.

Sandy

See you on the trail.

We had a tremendous week of hashing. Brain planned out a great trail
and it was even heard on the trail that he's one hare who cares
about his hounds. Everyone had a blast and the guys at Rio treated
us great as usual. Thursday Tony marked a fun one and then had
people over to his pool after for a dip, drink, and hotdogs. Friday
of course was the BN crawl from Jacks. An excellent night of fun. Of
course what happens on the crawl stays on the crawl.

This Tuesday July 25th at 6:00 John will be haring from Backwood's
grill. Always a great place to run from and it sounds like John is
very anxious to hare. Backwoods is over on Locust Ave down past
Wendy's about a half a mile or so on the left.

track/Shell building) approximately at 5:30.

A quick reminder that our monthly meeting will be this Wednesday at 7 pm in the
meeting room at the Student Rec. Center.

We are very fortunate to have local triathlete Tony Tarantini joining us at this
pre-Sprint, Splash 'n' Spin meeting. Tony is an experienced triathlete who has
risen to the challenge of training for big races around a young family and a
family-owned business. He will be at the meeting to talk about all things SSS
and of course will answer any other questions related to triathlon. We are very
grateful to Tony for giving up his limited time to share his thoughts with us.
This meeting is open to the general public so please feel free to bring a
friend.

Just as a reminder, our monthly meetings will be scheduled on the last Wednesday
of every month so please put us on your calander if you have any interest in
triathlon.

See you there,
Leah

I'll bring the roses...about a gross (12 dozen) should do it, I think. For all
the ladies since I have been such a jerk to them. By the way, don't tell Tonya,
but I got her two dozen red ones. She's so great and beautiful.

The rest of you lot should bring your own.

what a grreat hash, it couldn't have been named any better, we had a
nice crowd with no beer goin to waste at any of the BN's. with the full
moon glowing at the after hash and the new hash names given out made
for a supernatious time. the new names were spicy "nip%#le" and "wet
spot" just see if you can guess who recieved the new titles. anybody
that missed this hash sure missed a great one. eee-jack-ur-late laid
out a great trail that lead us to some well plenished BN"s that got us
all trying to find the right trail back to home. along with some crazy
runner runing down locust Ave. and almost got RUI "running under the
influence" and the "hot Chic"s" near FSU that offered us an unsceduled
BN we did finally found our way back to where we started. Great food
was ready when we finished and so was the "Ice cold" bevredges. don't
think we could have asked for a better host than Jannie, she was great,
thanks to all, espically to the chic with the "HOT Blue" thong.

By the way, Jack has a bunch of hotdogs and hamburgers for tonight so
you might bring some side dish if you're staying to eat afterwards.

Our BN Crawl that was supposed to be Saturday evening from John's
house is now going to be Friday evening at 7:00 from Jack's house.
You remember Jack? The guy who is always late? Just ask him.
Here's a map to his house:
http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/896/mpsvc0gk.gif It's not to bad
to find. Basically you'll take the downtown exit of I-79 and follow
Rt. 310N till it ends in town. Turn right onto Rt. 250N once in town
you'll need to turn left and find Rt. 19S which is Locust Ave. Just
after Fairmont State College be looking for Bell Run Road on your
right. You'll then turn left onto Brookside Drive.
We strongly encourage those driving to consider camping out in
Jack's yard if you don't have a designated driver. Morgantown will
be arranging a car pool at the Coliseum (entrance by the track/Shell
building) approximately at 6:30. No Drinking and Driving allowed!
