I set up a group on the Marine Corp Marathon under WVHHH with
password WVU.
Could be fun!

Some of us are in the NYC Marathon Lottery too. But doubt we'll get
into both.

CJ Maggie's hash was very good. We had a nice turn out and Gina and
Garth lead us all around Westover. We've got a few pics in our photo
section. And even have a pic of Charlie's girlfriend!!! My goodness.
The world must be about to end. But we do have photo proof and she
did actually say they were dating to the amazement of witnesses.
We're hoping she will continue to show up and we're looking at
getting a rotating schedule between her, Charlie's kids, and his dad.
Since anytime they're around Charlie is good. It seems to be some
sort of freighting Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing. This should help
hash attendance too since the good Charlie doesn't scare off new
people.

Our "Return of the John" hash looks like it is getting delayed. In
the infinite wisdom of the US Army the 1092 won't be coming home
until this Wednesday. That being after this Tuesday's hash sort of
ruins all our plans for this week. But don't worry! This is only a
delay. And hashing will continue this Tuesday at 6:00 from the
Sport's Garden at the Middletown Mall as Bret leads us through the
unknown abyss of South Fairmont and White Hall for out first day
light savings time hash of the year! Rumor has it he's looking for a
hare partner again. But there was a lot of talk from last time when
the two hares didn't really mark many falses. We report, you decide.

Until then,

ON - ON!!!!!

We had a good run from Westchester village in Fairmont lat Tuesday.
The Dynamic Hare Duo didn't put to many falses so they got teased a
bit at the end, but it was a very enjoyable run through the country.
Check out some of the pics we took at the after hash in the photo
section of the site! By the way, if you have any hash photos, feel
free to post them.

This Tuesday we're back in Morgantown at CJ Maggie's over in Westover
in the Big Lots plaza. It's just before you get to Pizza Hut on the
left. Garth will be haring our final Hash of the dark season as next
week we'll be back to normal lighting again with the return of
daylight savings time.

Also for next week it looks like we're possibly in for the long
awaited return of John Reynolds. I got to go down this weekend to see
my brother, who is in John's unit also, while he was on weekend pass
and I assume (bad thing to do with the Army…) that this week is
finish up at Fort Brag and they get to be back home next weekend.
So…….. if this is all true then John should be here for our run next
week at the Sports Garden. But of course there are a lot of maybes,
but be ready just in case!

Also, don't forget our Blackwater falls retreat coming up at the end
of April. It'll be April 30th and May 1st. We have around 10 looking
at going so far and if we can get that up to around 15 our cabin will
be a bit cheaper for everyone. Let us know this week if you're in!

April is going to be a big month of hashing with the time change,
better weather, John coming home, our spring formal, and our He-Man
Hash. Wow! What else can we pack in? So be ready for it all and until
then

ON – ON!!!!

Our Hash from Sport's page went well. Chris was kind to us for once!
We enjoyed a nice scenic route throughout the downtown area. There
was some complaints about the "which ways" not being marked, but oh
well, gotta give the hare some kind of advantage I guess.

This Tuesday March 23rd we'll be hashing from Westchester Village,
Fairmont. Bret will lead us around the area as he tried to loose us.
To get there from the Down Town Exit of I79, go right to the Traffic
light at McDonalds and Wendy's. At this light turn left. Go 4 Traffic
Lights turn left onto Fairmont Ave, go 4 Traffic Lights (Giant Eagle)
will be on the left. At this light turn right onto Country Club Road.
At the next light turn left-- Westchester Village is approx. 1/4 mile
on the right...1825 Locust Ave.

We have a cabin reservation at Blackwater Falls for April 30th May
1st for our He-Man (She-something) hash weekend. But get this. They
want the $$$ now. Great. So…. If you'd like to go we need to know!
This should be a fun weekend of hashing, biking, hanging out, and
pure enjoyment!

Until next time,

ON – ON!!!!

Our hash run on Tuesday hash was great. We went from Murial's in
Fairmont and Dan took us on a ton of trails. It was a hoot when he
started running he tried to hide behind a guardrail about a ¼ of a
mile away that we could see from the parking lot and slowly ducked
low as he creped along. Guess you had to be there, but it was
hilarious, I think later he claimed he was trying to throw us off.
Seems logical to me. Later on the tail a branch caught me in the eye
and ripped out a contact. I tried to find it without any luck and got
really far behind but finally caught up at the beer near. Oh well.
Only a contact and only $100. Dang expensive hard lenses. Afterwards
we went to the Sports Garden next to the Middletown mall. It was
pretty packed and it turned out to be Karaoke night. Charlie sang
Desperado and Sandy sang some Shania Twain. Very interesting. We kept
pushing for more singers with no success. We'll have to remember this
about the Sports Garden! Later Bret organized some kind of group
dance and at one point even got told to get a room by the DJ. So if
you missed all the fun, you'll have to be sure and stay next time!

This Tuesday we will be having our hash in Morgantown at Sports Page
on High street. Just look for the big red cap about mid way down.
There's a lot of parking at the Walnut Street parking garage one
street up on Spruce Street, which is very close. Chris will hare and
I think has some ideas that didn't get to try out from last time that
he wants to run by us this time.

Until then,

ON ON!!!!!!

We had a great time from Pizza Hut in Westover. Charlie of course
took us through all kinds of trails and up above Westover in a way
few have seen. A very nice hash. The girls have been complaining that
they're not getting enough remarks in the emails for their Saturday
runs. Let's see if I can quote some of the things people have said
during the actual hash. $^% &#()% #$($#$ $$$*() %)(#& @#& $%%.
Sorry… FCC wouldn't allow those actual quotes. But there were some
comments about how well spaced the marks are and even under or on top
of things. But you have to keep the hash interesting right? There is
speculation that it's because they're scared they'll get caught. Now
they are very fun hashes. We just like to pick on them as always!

This Tuesday we'll be going from Muriale's where Dan is going to take
us all around the Mary Lou Renton area. Maybe we can get us to see
the gold medal or something. Rumor has it there's going to be a large
Morgantown group heading down. Let's see if they can beat the number
of Fairmont people that come up to Morgantown!

We had a nice Fat Tuesday run from Frankie's. Frank enjoyed loosing
us in the darker side of Fairmont with less lights. It was a fun
trail but Jack was the only one to find the beer near!!! Guess that
can make things fun for some people. We went to Winston's afterwards
and enjoyed the Fat Tuesday specials and band there.

Our Saturday hashes have been excellent and well attended. The girls
(oops, now Charlie knows where the women are) try to hare most of
those and take us on some interesting and challenging courses.
Typically we go to McDonalds afterwards for some breakfast. Makes for
a nice start for the weekend.

This Tuesday we'll be going from Westover Pizza Hut in Morgantown,
which is in the Big Lots plaza just down from the mall. Charlie will
take us around and probably torture us with lots of trails. Hopefully
he'll remember that it's still dark out and do the trails at the
beginning of the course and then take us over to the streets of
Westover when it gets darker. But who are we to make requests of the
all powerful and all knowing maha Charlie.

Just so you'll all be aware we're expecting John Reynolds back in
March from Iraq. We'll of course have a special welcome home hash for
him at a site and hare of his choosing. So if you get drafted be
ready!!

Sorry for the second special notice this week but......
Hey! Guess what! After we run around with our beads for Fat Tuesday
from Frankie's we've been invited out to Winston's for their bash.
Cool! Something about drink deals and specials for hashers and what
not. We must have some kind of connection or something. So plan on
after hashing there!

See ya then!

We had a good hash from Mundays last Tuesday. Chris did shorten it up
since we all lost him last time. And we did get to see some nice
trails. If it only would have stayed light out a bit longer! We are
picking up a minute a day and the hares do get a few minutes of
daylight now. The first daylight savings time hash is only about 45
or so days away.

This coming Tuesday is Fat Tuesday and Frank will lead us around from
Frankie's Supper Club. It's easy to get to off the downtown Fairmont
exit of I-79. Head towards Chevron off the exit ramp and when you get
to the light turn left which will take you between McDonalds and
Wendy's. You'll come to the nest light between Dominoes and Subway
and you'll want to make a right here. Frankie's is about a mile or so
down the road on the left. Just a little past the VFW. Parking is a
little tight, but there's some other streets nearby too.

Ok, our He-Man (and woman) weekend is at Blackwater
http://www.blackwaterfalls.com/ on April 30 - May 2. Blackwater has
cabins and an indoor pool. There are 10 miles of hiking trails and
bikes are not allowed on trails. They can be in the Mon National
Forest http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/mnf/ close by, but I don't know how
far that is. Spruce Knob and Seneca Rocks are also close by. So we
should have plenty to explore. Plus this all would be relatively
close.

We had an excellent time from the Smokehouse BBQ. Great food and fun
conversation. It's amazing to hear the politics of a majority of hash
runners. The course was great too. Just enough hills and tricky spots
thrown in. We did have one tricky ice hill that we had to climb down.
Not sure to many enjoyed that since we forgot our sleds, but we did
get to see the whole city of Fairmont from the top of the hill.

We'll be hashing from Mundays in Morgantown this coming Tuesday.
Chris will be leading us through all types of trails through white
park and beyond. Mundays is just down from White Park in Morgantown.
The easiest way to get there is to take Callen Ave. That's the steep
road across from Exxon and Audi on 119 just as you're getting into
town from Fairmont. You'll turn right onto Callen from 119 and
continue on up the hill. It's an immediate right onto Mississippi and
then left onto Madigan Ave. Mundays is on the corner and is 669
Madigan Ave.

We got four boxes of chalk today and we're going to have it in a few
different car trunks. If you really want one let us know. So if you'd
like to give a few dollars for the chalk give your donation to Jay
and we'll take care of it.

Tonight is our first `Ask Bret' chat session. Click `Chat' on our
website tonight at 9:00 and ask Bret anything you'd like an answer
to. Sorry, no money back guarantees on the answers.

Ok, our He-Man (and woman) weekend is looking like people are leaning
towards Blackwater Canyon on April 30 - May 2. So let get some
numbers to make sure this is good for everyone.

Until Then,

ON – ON!!!!

We had a fun cold hash from Rio Grande in Morgantown. We sort of lost
the trail after the BN. But for some reason the hounds didn't know
that the hare went right up through the woods. Go figure, must have
been that silly dark thing. Yeah yeah, us wimpy hounds. But it's
getting lighter and lighter every evening and son we won't need
flashlights for our hashes!

This Tuesday we'll be going from Smokehouse BBQ in the old Michael's
Catering Bdlg before you get to Bellview. Do not cross the bridge. Go
thorough downtown Fairmont on Adams St. The road will turn left and
at the top of the hill Miller Jr. High will be on the left. Then go
down the hill and Smokehouse BBQ will be on the right at the bottom.
Beside Colasseno's Pizza. Sorry for the change, but Bill's is not
open on Tuesday's!!!

Have you ever had a hash question that you just couldn't get an
answer to? Ever need some advice for the course you're planning to
hare? This Thursday at 9:00 PM the web site will be holding it's
first weekly "Ask Bret" chat session. Get advice, answers, or just
talk. But be sure to be there to stump the host! All you have to do
is click on `Chat' on our web page and it'll open a chat window for
you. So see you there at 9:00!

ON – ON!!!

We had a nice run from Backwoods. It was cold but had a nice run.
Thursday from Giant Eagle turned out to be even more fun as the snow
dropped and left us an easy way to follow Dan all over town. We
barley had to look for marks with his footprints. There's only so
much a hare can do to hide his steps when the snow is everywhere. Dan
did a good job though and fooled us a few times with some missteps
and some cleaver hidden stepping.

This Tuesday though we'll be going from Rio Grande in Morgantown.
That's the Mexican restaurant in the plaza in Saberton. It's almost
at the end before the Ford dealer. Chris will be taking us around and
showing off the best snow spots in town. Rumor has it we're supposed
to get more snow so we might just have another fun time following.
But we all know how accurate those weathermen are!

For our He-Man (and She-Ra) weekend Holly River was the only place
that got any responses. Our possible dates are: April 23-25, April
30 - May 2, May 7-9, May 14-16. So if any of those sound better let
us know.

Until Next time,

ON – ON!!!

CARDIFF PRE-LUBE BUS TOUR

OF ENGLAND AND IRELAND

JULY 12 - JULY 22, 2004

The Erin Go “Bragh-less” Hash Tour!!

Registration is now starting for the TRIP OF A LIFETIME!  This is a group tour personally designed for those hashers who will be attending the World Interhash this July in Cardiff, Wales.  This bus tour is a 10 night, 11 day exciting vacation, culminating in Cardiff for the big hash event.  This itinerary is for those hashers interested in taking the time to sightsee and visit many of the most interesting landmarks of England, and Ireland, as well as hash. The entire bus would be hashers, so you know that we will have fun. There will be no worries, cause all of the planning, transportation, and accommodations are taken care of for you.  All breakfasts and half of your dinners are included as well! This company plans high energy and active tours, which always include trips to local pubs and hot nightspots. We will be in Dublin during the Paddywhacks Hash Weekend  as well!   The tour price will depend on the total number of hashers who book, averaging about $1300 per person. The minimum number of hashers would be 25, and the maximum would be 49 for the tour.  Secure your spot by putting down a $200 deposit.  Once 25 deposits have been received, they will be sent to the tour operator. Since over 4000 hashers have already registered for Cardiff, I think that this tour will fill up quickly. I have included the itinerary and the registration information.  So, if you are interested, don’t delay, because there are only a limited number of spots available. Deposits are due by February 19th, 2004.   Scroll down for a registration form.  For more information,

We had a cold one from Black Bear. Chris got stuck at work so we were
stuck with Charlie haring. We of course got to visit the lair and all
over town. All in all a good evening. But dang was it cold.

This Tuesday, January 27th at 6:00, we'll be hashing from Backwoods
in Fairmont as Dan leads us all over. That's over on Locus Ave down
past Wendy's about a half a mile or so on the left.

We've got a list going for possible sites for our He Man (and woman)
weekend. What do you think about these choices for our HHH getaway?
Let us know.

Tuesday was pretty cold at the Derby. We had a great number out to
brave the weather though. Jack led us all around town and marked a
great course for us. Some of even took a short cut through some
winding tunnel to the lower levels of the police station. Pretty
scary.

This Tuesday at 6:00 on Jan 20th we'll be hashing from Black Bear in
Morgantown. That's on Pleasant Street just up the Westover Bridge
across from the Army store. Chris will lead us all around and keep us
warm in the frigid weather.

We've gotten a nice into page written up and put in our files section
of the page. This makes a good item to use on the reverse side of the
calendar to give out to people that you're trying to get to come out
to the hash. Also sort of along these lines we're getting a logo
together to put on this page and to use for a t-Shirt. We've had some
ideas for t-Shirts thrown around. Mostly along the lines of "Tuesday
Night Live" and "No Rules." So give your ideas and thoughts for both
the t-Shirt and logo.

For anyone interested in a little extra training, a group of us have
been getting together on Mon, Wed, Fri at Giant Eagle in Fairmont
after work and run around 5:10 or so. This isn't a hash, but just a
run. Usually on Mondays we'll go for a long run and Fridays we've got
a great hill route. Wednesdays we've been playing it by ear, but
usually vary. We won't post these on the calendar, but wanted
everyone to know that all are welcome.

Bret is going to start up and host a weekly chat on the Internet site
and would like to invite everyone to come out and ask questions. So….
Appointments can be made with Dr. Bret but any and all questions will
be answered. He hasn't given an exact time yet, so if you have a
preference let us know.

Got this email from Dan Lehmann:

I wish I could get up there to join you for some of your great
sounding hashes, but the distance to Mgtn makes it tough. I enjoy
receiving the newsletter regardless. A group of xc skiers in the
Thomas/Davis/Canaan Valley area started a xc skiing hhh group last
winter. The group obviously has some runners as well. Their hash skis
are on Sat or Sun. They just started a Yahoo Newsgroup at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cvh3hashski which should have their
schedule soon. I will also put the schedule on the West Virginia
Mountain Trail Runners site www.wvmtr.org It's great cross training
with some wild and crazy folks. Check it out. If you can mention this
in your next Hash Alert it would be great.
Dan Lehmann

Might be a neat idea for us to try and get together with them on one
of our weekend get aways. Maybe possible in Feb or March.

See you all soon, and until then,

We had a wonderful full moon hash from Crocket's on Tuesday. Around
15 hard core hounds braved the frigid cold for a nice trail laid down
by the hare Charlie. Afterwards we enjoyed some food in Crockets and
filled out some future hares for upcoming hashes. Our Tuesday hashes
are now filled up to April!!! Wow… Isn't that great. I know, you're
just over whelmed. You can get the file off our website to give out
or use for future sites.

This Tuesday Jan 13th at 6:00 we'll be hashing from the Derby in
Fairmont. That's just down from Giant Eagle on 12th Street. Hope to
see you there. Jack has a trail already planned for us and maybe even
a hot chocolate stop! Don't forget to dress warm, bring a flashlight
and reflectors, and that during these nighttime hashes we usually
only give the hare a 10 minute head start. Just a reminder for you
all those who like to pull in at 14 after and hoop out and run. Darn
stuck up non social last minute people! (Just kidding)

Also, Garth brought a list of some weekends of April 23-25, April 20-
May2, May 7-9, and May 14-16 for a possible He-Man (and woman)
weekend this spring. What do you think and how about where? Are we
allowed to plan ahead like this and still call ourselves a hash
group? Let us know any feedback or any other times you'd like to have
a special hash.

Until then,

ON – ON!!

We'll have our first Tuesday hash of the year from Crocket's in
Morgantown on Jan 5th at 6:00. This is along the main drag in Star
City just down from the Fire Department. If you're coming from
Fairmont take the Star City exit off of I-79. After you cross the
Star City bridge turn left at the light. You'll turn right at the
stop sign and it's around a mile on the right. Parking is easiest in
the lot across the street.

See you there!
