Our spring formal brought out numerous hashers that we hadn't seen
in a while and of course had plenty of running around the WVU
campus. If you missed Friday's hash you missed a nice run where
Charlie got to get his haring bug taken care of.
This Tuesday John will be leading us from Colasessno's in Fairmont.
It is located on Rt. 19 N at 506 Pennsylvania Ave just as your
starting to out of the downtown area on 19. If you're coming from
Morgantown take the downtown exit and follow 310 N into downtown.
Turn right onto Rt. 250 N and continue on Rt. 19 N. It's been
rumored John has a wonderful course planned since some soccer
players complained that his last course was to short and not very
muddy. So bring your old shoes!
We're having our 2,500th hash on May 17th from McAteers in Fairmont.
Get your registration forms off the website or pick some up at the
next hash. This will be at 6:00 and we want it to be huge. We've got
t-shirts ordered and other goodies. Plus we always get a great
buffet at McAteers of all kinds of pasta. We're doing an all for one
registration just to try and make things easy of $25. This will
include everything: t-shirt, meal, drinks, hash whistle, hash
sticker, hash button, and other goodies bag. We've got Frank and
John planning
out a grand course which will be filled with false trails and also
be friendly for walkers in the group.
We have an excellent new logo that Brian Maze designed. We'll be
using it for our t-shirt on for the 2,500th Hash. Be sure to thank
Brain for his time and work on this logo. Our lawyers have contacted
Brian's lawyers and worked out this legal agreement for the logo:
"The WVHHH Management has permission to use the created logo in
print, t-shirts, mugs, buttons or other hash related products.
Additional text and small banners can be added to graphic to promote
a specific event. The original graphic itself cannot be changed or
redrawn without the artist's permission."
So…. Feel free to get things made with the logo on it. But no
changing it!
We have this opportunity that Garth is setting up for our hash group
to help out at the Triathlon in Morgantown this summer:
On Sunday, June 26th 800 triathletes from around the world,
including Charlie Shaffer, will be doing the 1/2 ironman and Olympic
distance triathlons in Morgantown. This is a world class event with
$25,000 in prize money. (If you win any Charlie, you have to split
it with us). They need groups to volunteer for aid stations. Would
ten people from the WVHHH be willing to man a station that day from
10AM - 3 PM? We will be located someplace in Morgantown during the
run portion of the race. Do we want to be close to the beginning or
end of the run?
Here is the best part..all we have to do is show up and man the
station.
The race company provides all the stuff we need and will pay each
person $10 each for the day. This would be a great way to put some
money in the pot to pay for chalk or other accessories. Also, we
are encouraged to decorate our aid station and make it fun for the
runners....I can think of a few ideas. I think this would be a lot
of fun and a great way to get the word out about HHH.
Please let me know if you are interested ASAP. We must be able to
know
that we have enough people to man the station by the beginning of
June I would say.
Yes, Jay I will be the contact person for this.
