He-Man (and woman) Weekend at Blackwater Falls!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #159 of 1640 |
Our Spring Formal was again a tremendous success. We had something
like 25 people dining in the Brew Pub for the after hash and
practically took over the one side of the place. Poor Jessica was
running rampant trying to waitress to all of us. It looked like the
run was going to be a rainy one, but our mighty hares, Jay and Bret,
planned things out perfectly and once the hash started the weather
was beautiful. The hash visited all the hot spots of town and
allowed our well dressed runners to show off to everyone. The first
BN was at Side Pocket Pub at the Lair. After that of course was up
Frat hill and back to the well laid trail. After a small down hill
and a trip through south park our heroes left another BN at the
famous household of Don Parks and Heather Bury. Thanks to them for
hosting. A wonderful time was had by all and you can even see some
pics of the fun on our website.

But now on to the party this weekend!
This is it! What everyone has been waiting for! The He-Man (and
woman) weekend at Blackwater Falls!
A group of us is heading down early tomorrow to set up and scout out
some trails. But you can feel free to come down anytime. Even if you
can only be there for a little bit please join us. We're going to
camp out at the campgrounds both Friday and Saturday nights.
Campsites cost $15 per tent area and they limit 6 people per tent
area. So get your camping gear out. And don't forget to pack all
kind of food goodies to cook out. Be sure to bring some kind of
potluck stuff to share with everyone. (Yes Charlie, you must bring
food too!)

To get to Blackwater Falls you'll want to get to Grafton and take Rt
50 E and catch 24 S and then take U.S. Rt. 219 S to Thomas, then Rt.
32 south to the park. Look for the signs for the campgrounds.
Tom sent some directions for a better route from Morgantown:
"Hi All, from Motown you'll want to take 7 E to Terra Alta then the
Aurora Pike (CR-53 S) to Rt. 50. E on 50 and follow Jay's
directions. Or I-68 E to Friendsville, MD, 42 S to Rt. 219S at
McHenry (Deep Creek) then follow Jay's directions."
You can also alter this a little bit from Fairmont and take the
Goshen Road exit off of I-79 to the Gladesville Road like you're
going to Autherdale and then continue past Autherdale to Rt 7.
Basically there are a lot of ways you can go, but you get the idea.
Not sure if cell phones will work there, but if you need any help
finding us and want to try, my cell is 304-319-2327.
Hope to see everyone there!

Till then,

ON – ON!!!
